Amsterdam based House head Nachtbraker made his first appearance on "Apparel Music" and on Detroit Swindle's infamous HEIST recordings earlier this year with his fantastic "Gute Laune" EP. We are very pleased to welcome him to our Dirt Crew family and to release his new record.

Being best known for his smooth and deep production with jazzy and soulful elements he also added these ingredients carefully in these 4 new tracks. The opening track „Alright“ has this great cathy piano hook that progresses though the whole track and gives us that sweet old school House feeling, absolutely funky as hell and a standout track that will have you run to the booth to check what the hell it is... unique in every way.

The second track „Braun“ takes us to rougher and more bouncing Hip Hop like beats with spaced out sounds and great Detroit-ish chord progressions. The title track „Janus“ is the true Gem of this release, slow and funky with a tasty Bass Line that gets you moving like crazy once it drops. The whole track teases and teases until it finally opens up to House heaven in the latter part of the track. Last on this wonderful EP is the elegant „Warme Kachel“ or should we say „Hot Oven“ haha.. well the sound is in the title, a very warm and cosy little piece that gets you in the right mood for some heated party action.. either way as warm up track or cool down closing song this beauty will set the right mood for sure.

Splendor & Squalour number 3 see’s Brame & Hamo return to their rising imprint. Since the boy’s Ep “Lamaj’s Secrets” on Dirt Crew we have seen them do a string of remixes for labels such as Kolor Ltd, Heist & their very successful remix for Harry Wolfman and Loz Goddard’s “Uncle Buck” on Dirt Crew. All these releases have kept a steady momentum going for the Sligo boys in the house Scene. 

For this ep we have a full 3 tracker consisting of all original cuts. The EP kicks off with “Kebab Dreams” which takes us on a trip to the moon with greasy drums and saucy groove. Up next is the MPC workout “Cert City” paying homage to their hometown of Sligo. Closing the Ep we have “Retch Wretchedness” which takes a darker turn showing us the spookier side of Brame & Hamo while still keeping the jazzy touch. A peak time track for sure.

Jimpster serves up the first single entitled Crave from ahead of his
forthcoming Silent Stars LP complete with remixes from Atjazz and
Flabaire.

In its original form Crave, which features the vocals from hotly-tipped
Londoner Florence Rawlings, is an emotionally charged electronic torch song guaranteed to get inside your head from the very first listen. The spacey chords and punctuating string stabs bring hints of the 80’s to mind whilst Florence’s gentle vocal floats in the air like a fresh sea breeze.

In addition to the mesmerizing original we present two brilliant and
contrasting remixes from one of the UK’s legendary producers Atjazz as well as Paris‘ rising star Flabaire whose D.KO Records has been dropping gem after gem since 2013. Atjazz spins Crave into outerspace with a fat, driving groove and twisted sonics making for an incredibly deep and forward-looking slice of aural gold. 

In contrast, Flabaire looks back to the early 00’s for his classic soulful house rework which calls to mind the sounds of Spinna and vintage Naked Music. Closing the release we have another original track entitled Where You Are featuring Berlin based US native Khalil Anthony. Here we find Jimpster doing what he does best, creating a sublime late night club track with his deft musical touch making this one that will stand out in the crowd.

Lyon based, Moonrise Hill Material initially stamped their mark through a series of stellar records, delivering a brand of familiarly sunny sampled french house yet most importantly, unmistakably and distinguishably, 'them'. This 'renaissance' - if you will - of the French variety of house has seen the rise to the stars of MHM's founders, most notably that of Folamour and Ethyene. Despite an early release on Moonrise Hill and an offering on Folamour's 'For Heaven Use Only', Victor Dijoud aka Kaffe Crème has remained bubbling under the surface - until now!

Kaffe's, 'Neukölln Omelett' contributes further towards the aforementioned French renaissance of underground house music by teaming up with fellow countrymen Vertv records for a quartette of silky and masterfully crafted, intelligent dance music. If you have a penchant for cleverly used samples, then we urge you to listen to this and the rest of Kaffe Crème's work.
