True to its eclectic and passionate identity, and to celebrate its 5th anniversary, Pont Neuf announces the release of a new compilation, “Hexagonal Club Vol.2”. An unprecedented project which brings together  he titles of the most promising young talents on the current French electronic scene: Flabaire , Tour-Maubourg, Cosmonection, Madcat, KX9000, Calmos & Berzingue, Fasme, Herr Krank, THEOS, Saudade and Vitess. Composed of 12 original tracks, this compilation immerses the listener in the heart of the different facets of electronic music through diverse and colorful explorations.

It is with the silky title of Flabaire ‘’Sleeve’’ that the compilation opens, followed by the jazzy house sounds of Tour-Maubourg and the balearic and aerial influences of Cosmonection with ‘’Deep Oddities’’ and ‘’Las Olas’’. Madcat and Calmos follow up with two deep and mental tracks:‘’Cala Saona’’ and ‘’Consoude’’ followed by the groovy ‘’ Gambling House’’ by KX9000. Following them, ‘’ Turbo Blaster’’ by Fasme, imbued with hypnotic italo-house melodies; ‘’Something Different’’, a sunny piano house track by Herr Krank, and ‘’ Wanna Go Out’’ by THEOS, a deep house title supported by loud and warm bass. The compilation ends with a more techno vibe with Saudade’s dark minimal ‘’ Kaleidoscope’’, the energetic ‘’ With the Brizious’’ by Berzingue; and, finally, the broken and mystical style of Vitess with D.C.D.L.’’

Madcat - Cala Saona

Following their debut on the imprint earlier this year, Kassian step up for a second outing on Shall Not Fade, this time via the Basement series. Their return to the label takes a deeper, heavier direction than their previous releases, more suited to a warehouse over an intimate club setting.   As Kassian have continuously pushed their sound forwards, they've gained recent accolades such as contributing to BICEP’s Feel My Bicep mix series, playing Mixmag’s LAB London live and notable coverage from DJ Mag and more in the last year alone.  Their latest EP 'Breathe' is perfectly placed for the long awaited return to nightlife. The A1 delivers what a true A1 should, a peak time driving track with undeniable energy. “Aerial” pulls back the pace slightly, it’s a deep and rolling effort with a classic trance influence. Rounding off the EP is “London Orbital”, clearly inspired by the sounds of London that the duo are so familiar with, the track switches up the pace and presents a breaks focussed sound.  Breathe EP drops August 27th via Shall Not Fade.

The Alma Negra collective consists of three Swiss based friends and musical kindred spirits. Crossing musical traditions, their eclectic sound is result of their varied and cross-cultural backgrounds. The Figueira Brothers, Dersu & Diego have roots in Cape Verde, while Mario’s roots are in Spain.  As DJ’s, producers and live performers, their sound ranges from Jazz to African and Latin, from Donald Byrd to Fela Kuti to Theo Parrish. The Alma Negra camp is bubbling over with creativity. They’ve released on Sofrito, Highlife and are part of the Heist Recordings family.  The Basel based DJ’s and obsessive diggers formed Alma Negra Records in 2018 as forum for global sounds and club ready music with a multi-cultural approach and a raging deep passion for the Latin flavour, mad percussion, highly infectious rhythms, and tribal beats.

The ‘Zouk Combat EP’ pays homage to the Afrodisco sounds of the 80s. Zouk is the disco noise from the Caribbean islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique. The title track is nothing but a dancefloor bomb, with crisp brass, drum machines and funky synths that drive the Zouk beat forward. ‘Sosso’  is the cut you want to hear as the sun comes up on a beach. It’s delicate vocal and super light groove make you float up into the Sunrise. ‘Timbal Madness’ comes with a hard timbal solo, deep synth pads and mental voice synth solo.  On the remix is Boston born, Medellin based studio wizard Bosq, who delivers his Afro-Latin rerub of ‘Zouk Combat’, once again proving his skill as one of the most in demand remixers in this scene ain’t no joke.
