Livity Sound is proud to present a 12” of lean, refined club tracks from UK stalwart Beneath. The Mistry and No Symbols boss has spent the past 10 years exploring a sound which nods to the legacy of bleep techno, dubstep and UK funky while leaning forwards into its own distinctive space. 

His stripped-back blend of crisp drums, sprightly hooks and sub bass are instantly identifiable, but across four new tracks Beneath displays the versatility within his reach. Stomping four to-the-floor rollers on the A side face-off with minimalist dub and weighty, synth-rich expressions on the flip that move beyond the demands of the dancefloor.

The machine squirted a flurry of instructions as to where and what activities needed to be done, but it all happened so fast it was impossible to understand. There was too much information to take in, before the second direction was spat out, they'd barely had time to register the first. There seemed to be no way of extracting the instructions again, it was up to them to piece together the snippets they'd managed to catch, which would inevitably result in a ramshackle collection of unintelligible words and phrases.

At the end of 2020 Leeds-based label Turnend Tapes released a charitable compilation titled Da'aro Youth which raised money for the community-led organisation which supports young refugees from the Horn of Africa. One of the 13 artist who contributed to the release was Tokyo producer Albino Sound, who's output explores the use of percussion and sound design to make crisp, intricate tracks that touch on UK bass and techno.

Now he returns for his first solo EP on the label, Metallurgy, which sees him dive further into these textural sonics, pairing metallic sounds and FX with meticulous drum programming and weighty bass frequencies to produce four club-orientated tracks.

After several years writing and performing as one half of duo @astryd_music, Jo’s new project sees them turn towards more personal, intimate and conceptual explorations. The result is a trio of bold, technoid soundscapes - with an emphasis on intricate, detailed sound design. A high-octane and visceral performer, Memory Play’s live sets push their machines and audience to breaking point.

Honed during a three-month writing residency and a series of explosive live performances across Japan in 2022, this EP is a first glimpse inside the world of a hugely talented young artist.

'Banoffee Pies Records drop their 12th release in the original series with a solo EP from New York-based Tristan Arp. With a string of intricate music on the likes of Human Pitch and a recent LP entitled “Suggested Forms”, which offers a wider exploration into his work, Tristan’s passion for sound design echoes in this record.

All four tracks offer an environment somewhere between a feeling and a dance floor with obscure influences in polyrhythmic drum patterns and a clear combination of digital and analogue processing. “Swept Thru” opens proceedings with a spiral of rhythms and heavy percussion leaping in energy throughout.

British producer Eliphino has never been one with a relentless release schedule, yet this aspect has never formed a hindrance or disconnect with love for his music. His tunes are always anticipated, almost needed, for their distinctive Eliphino touch. 

After a break, 2019 saw a return with an EP on Meda Fury and later a mini-LP with Secretsundaze. 2020 has seen a continued new lease of life with further output via Bobby's Needs label and Breaks 'N' Pieces. 
Now with the ever-presented Hypercolour, he preps his first EP with the label in seven years, entitled 'Maelstrom'. 

Track 'Eddy' is a shuffling, insidious cut. Threading moody synths and bubbly elements through gentle breaks, a robot generated sample 'delete' ring roads around the arrangement bringing an ordinarily 'out-of-our-head' experience back home.
