A thirst for all things alien encompasses the philosophy behind Sex Tapes From Mars - a brand-new vinyl-only imprint demanding humans to take them to their leader. So, two questions: who’s helming the record stores, and what message are they trying to deliver? For their inaugural release, the label beams down a VA from three impeccable rising stars intent on supplying some much-needed freakishness to Earth.     

Nemo Vachez sets the bearings for outer space with ‘Overload (Interstellar Rave Mix)’ – a sulking electro and acid intro that rambles with all the madness of a spaceship determined to veer off-course. It’s imaginatively paced, with scorning breakdowns and a lethal sense of some threat sitting on the horizon.    

Muelsa loads up a biological weapon of warfare with ‘A Message’, aptly named largely for its ruthless electro lines and a drawling voice asking for the answer to an age-old dilemma: “Please tell me it’s aliens? Maybe they’ve got rhythm too”.   

The signal glitches to Hubz for the close. ‘Fly By The Comets’ reverberates with great waves of synths before lunging into the first of two menacing drops, riffing and warring against some unseen force before exterminating the target.     

Wherever this UFO’s destination is set, all eyes are clearly watching. Sex Tapes From Mars delivers emotionally ambiguous cinematics for the dancefloor, so space helmets on and buckle in for the ride – the thrill is what makes it fun.

Philipp Priebe (@priebe) makes his Oleeva debut with 2 remixes of Will You's recent ambient track, Understanding. The founder of STÓLAR expertly weaved the original vocal sample throughout both versions, alongside dusty drums, strings and keys. His 'Chapel Interpretation B Minor Version' is the calmer of the two, with its dreamy mood giving a balearic, hazy vibe perfect for late summer nights.

Analog Disease is an electronic music project by Carmelo Zocco (@kamerol_music) and Pasquale Ruggiero (@rabanne_music), two selectors who share a passion for the warmth and depth of ‘80s sounds

Although they’ve both been living in London for years, it was in January 2024 that they became housemates, strengthening their collaboration. This change allowed their creative ideas to blend naturally, inspired by the city’s music scene and the rich textures of vintage analog machines.

Drawing inspiration from electro, house, and techno, their sound is always evolving with a focus on experimentation and sound exploration. While they haven’t released any original music yet, their goal is to craft a unique sound that connects with their audience and, one day, to perform live using the classic analog gear they love.

Now a resident of Santa Musica, I invited Michel7000 to curate a mix. Marking the first downtempo installment in our podcast series, this selection reflects the essence of archivesandmore: not bound by genre, but guided by a commitment to quality content in all its forms. This is downtempo not as background, but as a narrative form: moody, nuanced, and alive!


Hailing from Toulouse and now deeply embedded in Berlin's pulsating underground, Michel7000 is a DJ with a sharp curatorial instinct. His record selection is as vast as it is meticulously selected, ranging from ambient, downtempo to pulsating techno and house - all bound together by a refined sense of quality.
