They scrutinise, unravel, dissect, and violently debate Victory's credentials as potential A-League  winners. Talkback callers join in the the conversation and add their insights. 

The boys talk about Melbourne City prospects against Sydney FC and compare the City crew against their hometown rivals Victory. 

Turning their attention to the Socceroos Carlos recounts his story of meeting Tim Cahill in Japan and why we should not worry about who is going to score goals in the Asian Cup 2015.

Four Diegos Final Whistle SEN1116 - Melbourne Victory Vs Brisbane Roar - November 21, 2014

This week Carlos joined Jason Richardson to chat about all the big stories in world football.

The boys started by reflecting on the 10 year anniversary of the Hyundai A-League. They discussed the ups and downs of the competition and what it might look like in the future. 

Mike Mulvey’s shock sacking from Brisbane Roar was on the agenda as was Melbourne City’s underachievement so far under the new ownership of Manchester City. 

Talkback fired up with excitement when the topic turned to the International Champions Cup tournament scheduled for the MCG Melbourne in July 2015. Real Madrid with the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo and the prospect of Inter Milan and Manchester City also partaking in the global football festival put a ‘spring in the pants’ of listeners and of course Carlos.

Carlos Alberto Diego on SEN 1116 Harf Time with Jason Richardson - November 26, 2014

This week Carlos joins SEN1116’s Tony Schibeci to talk everything that is world football. 

First on the agenda was the FFA Cup final with Adelaide United’s professional 1-0 win over Perth Glory. The boys talked about how the competition captured the imagination of a nation and gushed over the inspirational performances of some Australia’s giant killing amateur clubs who took on the big boys. 

The trials and tribulations of West Sydney Wanderers at the FIFA Club World Cup was also a hot topic. The team and the players, having been involved in a pay dispute before the first game, had also found themselves complaining about the playing surface and refereeing in the gutsy performance against Mexican champions Cruz Azul. The boys from West Sydney had every right to complain about the circumstances they were dealt but at what point do their complaints start to sound like whinging and sour grapes? The boys discuss it. 

Finally Carlos pays tribute to Australian football’s latest Hall of Fame inductee – the great Mark Viduka. The boys turn back time and talk about his early years to the high point of his career playing for Celtic and Leeds United in the United Kingdom. They throw open the talkback lines to get reflections from listeners.

DIEGOS FLASHBACK this week takes us to 2009 when we interviewed the enigmatic and enormously talented footballer Ljubo Milicevic live in the studio. Ljubo had just mutually agreed a parting of ways with Melbourne Victory - an acrimonious split that had courted widespread media coverage. 

We weren't quite sure how the interview was going to pan out once Ljubo had arrived to the studio barechested carrying a garbage bag full of candy after a day at the beach. 

The interview ended up being the most raw, edgy and tense in our over two decades of football radio.
