One more month, one more mix. This session again uses the template I've been doing on my Northern Powerhouse series: throwback 90s sounds from modern artists and labels. This session looks to get to the energy quicker within its 60 minute timeframe, pushing the gradient upwards. In terms of vibe: lapsed Guerilla/Jackpot Records/Hooj Tunes dads will find intrigue. There is something to chew on at every stage, pivots from light to dark, heads down grooves to heady psychedelia. The genuine spirit of progressive as it was, just keep throwing ideas and vibes into the pot. That's how it was done.

Decoded Magazine Mix of the Month November Submission – fourfourfun

My competition entry is dedicated to my dear, late cousin, Pietro Gandolfo, who was taken from us in a tragic accident aged just 39. Pietro LOVED techno. He was a DJ too, and gave me my first exposure to turntables when I was 15 in his home country of Sicily. 

The journey features my complimentary vocals sung over three tracks, whilst live in the mix, in Italian. I speak to Pietro on behalf of myself, our family, and his friends, wishing him peace, and letting him know we'll be there to rave with him soon.

Recording this mix, whilst holding back tears, was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Whenever I play this mix I know Pietro is listening. I hope you enjoy it.

Decoded Magazine Mix of the Month November Submission – KamooS

I've written for a whole spectrum of music outlets - from Data Transmission to Inverted Audio, the much loved Ibiza Voice and even contributions to FACT and Fabric. Mainly, this involves listening to sounds, deciding whether I like them or not, and then making words happen about them.

Sometimes the sounds find their way onto mixes (when I have the time between dealing with children and a demanding day job) some of which you can hear on here.

My sounds are myriad. One mix does not sound like the next.

House music lover since around 1988. Stu Allen key 103 Piccadilly Radio. The acid days. The rave days. Quadrant Park. Farnworth Pleasuredome. Legends Raves Warrington. Cream. Liverpool. Life@Bowlers. 3Beat Records on a Saturday. Hot Wax. Pete tong Essential selection. 

All of that was the catalyst. Had some citeonics and crappy. Borrowed belt driven drives for really poor efforts at DJing local youth clubs and occasional private parties. Kept up the music love and bedroom DJing. 

More recently enjoyed bringing the rave to fitness boot camps and the ambient soulful melodic house to Crosby Beach. Sunsets and sunny days been amazing.
