Having been involved with Regal's Irish debut back in 2016, five years later we see the producer thriving in the dance scene, with countless releases, his own label, remixes, club shows and festival appearances, to now releasing his debut album.

Regal’s genre-bending sound has been capturing the hearts and minds of ravers and industry heads since 2012. His staunch productions have garnered support from techno’s well-established vanguard, including noted collaborations, projects and remixes with Amelie Lens, Hadone, Nina Kraviz, Ellen Allien, Emmanuel Top and Len Faki. Regal’s sound graces clubland with full-throttle impact – whether at the legendary Berghain, Awakenings, Possession or his residency at Khidi in Tibilisi. Alongside his own productions, Regal’s imprint Involve has become established for delivering sharpened 303 infused acid sounds. The imprint has welcomed artists including Boston 168, FJAAK and Alignment and is now also the home for his debut album this June.

“The concept has changed a few times over the past few years” says Regal. The focus was to make an album that tells the story of his personal struggles and self-discovery, a dark insight into the DJ’s life, influenced mainly by Dante Alighieri’s ‘Divine Comedy’, where Dante has to cross all the layers of hell and purgatory to arrive in paradise.

Having launched their first label From Another Mind in 2014, releasing material from themselves alongside remixes from the likes of Rødhad, James Ruskin and Dax J, early December welcomes the arrival of a new project and a second imprint to the fold, Mutual Rytm.

Showcasing a new dimension of techno and electronic music, celebrating originality and innovation by combining timeless cuts from the past with cutting edge sounds of the present and the future, the new label will serve as a breeding ground for new artists alongside established talent and legends from the scene. Opening the imprint in style, the label bosses head up the first-ever release and the first V/A’ Federation Of Rytm I’ as they welcome a selection of new and established talent.

We’ve got a fresh Friday premiere from one of Ireland’s most in demand DJs and producers, blk. The young DJ has been causing a stir as of late, selling shows all over the country and in the UK. Today we premiere his track ‘Under Your Skin’ from his ‘Limitless’ Reboot Records EP.

Few Irish act’s have risen to such heights in such a short period of time, blk. has gone onto sell out all over the country show’s with the Reboot crew and even across the pond with sell out show’s in Scotland and England.

The newcomer has recently been announced for some massive festivals such as Emerge Festival alongside Disclosure, Patrick Topping & more, and EP Festival, being one of the only Irish electronic acts for the festival. Sold out shows at Index and Shine Belfast in the Telegraph have shown the youngster is well capable of selling out the most in demand venues in the country.

Outside of the club blk. has been receiving a lot of attention for his releases with tracks amassing over 600,00 plays on Soundcloud and massive. His track ‘Enter The Dragon’ has become a cult favourite within Ireland and is still racking up the plays and receiving massive reactions at gigs.

Today we premiere the track ‘Under Your Skin’ from blk.’s ‘Limitless EP’ on Reboot Records. The young producers dabbles in breakbeats for this track and delves into euphoric pads. The track quickly bursts into a frenzy as a gabber like kick quickly enters the equation. A floating synth line floats over the top of the madness to polish the tracks off.

Four Four Premiere: blk. - Under Your Skin [Reboot Records]

We’ve got some fresh homegrown Irish techno from Izotope boss Jon10, to kick start your weekend that bit earlier. Jon10 channels deep and tribal rhythms on his latest release ‘Detroit Holds The Secrets’ as part of Sonic Intel’s all Irish VA, focussing on the groovier territories of techno.

JON10 has been committed to bringing hardgroove and groove orientated techno back to Limerick through his party Izotope. Jon10 burst onto the Irish electronic early in the year 2020 and has been rapidly gaining attention with stellar releases, mixes and his Izotope brand.

Jon’s style of mixing and producing is derived from 90s/early2000s techno, which is evident with the sharp cuts and thundering grooves found in both his music and sets. JON10 picked up music production not so long ago and is already embarking on a quest to revive the sounds that once graced the dance floors many decades ago.

Jon10 has recently released on his imprint Izøtope as well as a number of free downloads and edits, coming on various platforms. Jon10 has been refining his sound, and you can hear his sheer dedication to perfecting a vintage techno sound.

The Limerick native showcases a deep yet none the less pounding techno excursion in his latest techno offering. ‘Detroit Hold’s The Secrets’ is fuelled by emphatic bass drums, breakbeats, crisp hats and Detroit style dub chords, as well as sampling the classic techno track ‘Erase – The Secrets’. Four Four Premiere: Jon10 - Detroit Holds The Secrets [Sonic Intel]

More new music from one of our favourite labels right now, Mutual Rytm. SHDW & Obscure Shape’s imprint has been consistent source of high grade techno inspired by the 90’s, and their next release from Alarico is just that. The Italian funk master supplies a high octane tribal roller in ‘AE86’ and we can’t get enough of it.

Alarico is on the back of an impressive year of music releases on the likes of Token Records, Hayes and more. The Italian youngster gained a significant amount of traction through his notable self-production only mixes, Alarico is a producer who is on a meteoric rise.

Combining nuances from across the genre to shape his own fast-paced and raw yet soulful sound, the Milan-based talent hasn’t slowed down since launching the alias in 2019. Having featured on the label’s VA ‘Federation Of Rythm I’ earlier this year, he now returns to SHDW and Obscure Shape’s blossoming Mutual Rytm imprint for his first EP on the label – delivering eight cuts across both digital and vinyl for ‘Boya’.

Today we premiere the A1 from Alarico’s ‘Boya’ EP. AE86 set’s the tone with rugged driving grooves, powered through tribal percussion, cheeky vocal hits and rolling low end. This sounds like it’s fresh out an early 00’s rave, as Alarico drives the groove with sharp syncopated rhythms and acute sampling. This is raw and driving funked up techno at it’s finest.

Today we premiere a track from Galway DJ and producer, Fionn Curran, as his 4 track happy hardcore inspired 'DREAM' EP nears its full release on Friday. 

Fionn is no stranger to the Irish circuit, having played sold out club shows in almost every county in Ireland, plus making his international debut in both Glasgow and Liverpool, not to mention most recent performances further afield in Spain of late.

Drawing inspiration from the Newcastle UK based genre 'makina' and old school happy hardcore, with an an added Irish twist, Fionn delivers a varied 4 track EP, which followers of Fionn will certainly recognise from festival performances and club shows this year.

Our first premiere of the week comes from one of the most exhilarating names in techno today, Chlär. Swiss native Chlär arrives on SHDW & Obscure Shapes imprint Mutual Rytm for a six track EP, comprised of futuristic grooves and tribal narratives. We premiere ‘Spirit Enhancer’ a high octane 90’s inspired cut, which draws on dub techno and disco flavours.

Emerging as an artist of note for both now and the future, Chlär continues to craft and shape his sound as he curates his own high-octane approach to techno. Combining dynamic performances taking in three and four deck mixes with his own up front productions and his talents as a former mastering engineer, the Swiss talent has become a respected name amongst his peers. After releases on Lobster Theremin and his own Bipolar Disorder imprint, the Berlin-based DJ, producer and label boss heads to SHDW & Obscure Shape’s blooming label Mutual Rytm to deliver six precise and powerful cuts across his ‘Optimized Groove’ EP.

“As the names states, ‘Optimized grooves’ is a collection of tracks designed to match specific parts of the event/night. From ‘Night Genesis’ at the origin of the night through to tracks like ‘Maximum Performance’, a peak time bomb, and ‘Spirit Enhancer’ – an uplifting and warm production elevating

We have the pleasure of once again premiering music from our favourite new techno label, Mutual Rytm and Chlär’s release is one of the most exciting yet. Spirit Enchancer comes in hot as the final track of the record (excluding the digital exclusive), and it’s packed with smouldering grooves. The Berlin based producer seems to be firmly looking back at classic 90’s techno for inspiration on this one, as the track would be easily mistake for early Technasia or Monika Kruse.

Chlär goes hard with rolling low end, yet show’s the light with illuminating strings, funked up disco sampling, and some infectious dub chord for good measure. The most impressive piece of of production prowess on this track is Chlär’s impeccable ability to create raw and raucous drum grooves and exemplary swing on his percussion, simply infectious in every possible way.

Four Four Premiere: Chlär - Spirit Enhancer [Mutual Rytm]

Our first premiere of the week comes from one of the most exciting names in techno right now, Chontane. The German native debut’s on SHDW & Obscure Shape’s Mutual Rytm imprint and we have the please of premiering ‘After Images’ which show’s Chontane flexing a soulful and emotive side to his production, while still holding onto his banging and shuffling repertoire.

Chontane has been immersing himself in techno for many years, experimenting with various styles and niches, and evolving his eclectic palette for high energy electronic music. Growing up in Berlin Chontane found himself obsessed with techno’s underground subculture, the young DJ started playing regularly at the early age of nineteen kicking things off with a residency at the Krach nights in Humboldthain and then playing some of the cities most revered clubs, including: Tresor, :// About Blank and OHM.

With his first record release in 2018 still receiving praise and support, Chontane has wasted no time in reaffirming his capabilities. With another successful collaborative release on Magic Power with WERK co-founder J.Manuel and a 4 track EP on the Special Projects sub-label of Radio Slave’s Rekids imprint. The young producer is constantly blurring the lines between techno, breaks and electro in the capital; breaking down some of the perceived barriers that were once there.

Today we premiere a track from Chontane’s debut on the coveted imprint Mutual Rytm which is at the helm of SHDW & Obscure Shape. We premiere the track After Images which show’s Chontane at his particularly familiar blistering pace, and an assortment of driving mutated synth lines. The track show’s an emotional side to Chontane’s work, yet it still offers a slice of peak-time warehouse raving to an otherwise euphoric tool. Chontane balances pounding and smouldering grooves with hazy melodies and soulful vocals to great effect.

Our first premiere of the week comes from Izøtope boss man as he releases a four track EP on his Limerick based imprint. We premiere ‘Tribal Elements’ which does exactly what it says on the tin and provides a trip through Latin and African influenced percussion and rolling techno grooves.

Jon10 has been working immensely hard at creating a sound that is highly influenced by techno of the past, with an onus on 90’s style techno grooves and tribal rhythms. His work in the past has seen him release a number of high profile free downloads, a debut on Infiltrator’s, Sonic Intel imprint and a number of releases on his own imprint Izøtope.

The four track EP explores all corners of the groovier aspects of techno by experimenting and dabbling with hypnotic synths, primitive tribal rhythms, groove infused patterns and dreamy chords. 

Tribal Elements focuses on rolling and swinging percussive grooves, as syncopated rhythms bounce off thundering kicks, the track seem’s to slip and slide through various rhythms yet remains ultimately cohesive. Bongo’s and percs fly around this drum workout and it’s simply irresistible and a a heavenly for those who like their techno tool orientated.

Four Four Premiere: JON10 - Tribal Elements (Original Mix)[Izøtope]

Our latest premiere is an absolute masterclass in jungle rhythms as Arcane pushes boundaries with his latest track 'Curse of the Pharaohs' from the EP of the same name. Due out Dec 16th on the mighty Irish label Rua Sound / Foxy Jangle listen to it hear first.

His second foray into the Rua Sound and Foxy catalogue sees him push the boundaries of bass infused jungle rhythms, offering rolling breaks, alongside intricate melodies and percussive mastery.

This outing is on the Irish label's stellar jungle series, Foxy Jangle, which has previously featured luminaries such as Sully, Tim Reaper, and FFF. On this double-A release, Arcane marks out his space in the jungle landscape: hard precise drum programming backed with swooping basslines, with bright melodic leads throughout.

The Bristol-based producer is on a run right now, following the release of a collaborative EP with Jon 1st this month, and headlining the Rua Sound weekender last October.

Four  Four Premiere: Arcane - Curse Of The Pharaohs [Rua Sound]

We’ve got another funk soaked techno groove to round off a solid week of new music on Four Four. Chlär steps up to remix Alec Dienaar on Deadline Records, and the Swiss groove maestro is once again proving that he is one of the most clinical and prolific techno producers on the planet right now.

Deadline Records present their first EP as a label following, a strong debut VA with tracks from The Chronics, Nicolas Volger, Specific Objects and more. The first EP ‘Perpetual Groove’ comes from Alec Dienaar, a fresh new name in the techno scene.

Alec is a young talented producer and DJ based in Utrecht, the Netherlands. His unique style can be described as groovy, funky with an old school touch. You can hear his passion through out his sound as he likes to sample old tracks turning it into a new track. His inspiration comes a lot from the late 90s and early 2000s.

With his groovy percussions, dirty basslines and unique chords, you will he is most definitely setting himself apart from the crowd. Also included are Remixes from Chlär, Hyden, Maxx Rossi and Versus.

Chlär‘s remix is just what you can expect from the Berlin based techno wizz kid. Chlär calls on thriving bass grooves, prickly chord stabs and rolling percussive rhythms. This is proper techno.

Today’s premiere comes courtesy of Greek techno producer Annē as she debuts on Mutual Rytm on the label’s second edition of the Federation Of Rytm compilation. Annē’s track is a deep and murky tool that showcases the producer’s ability to provide menacing rhythms while still remaining fully faithful to the groove.

SHDW & Obscure Shape and Mutual Rytm celebrate their first birthday with an outstanding 3 vinyl pack as their milestone tenth release to date and the second instalment of their Federation of Rytm compilation series.

German producers SHDW & Obscure Shape’s imprint, Mutual Rytm is the pairs most prestigious and cherished project to date. Through their vision and philosophy of music that champions “modern old school techno”, they have been able to display a wealth of aspiring, established & legendary producers who share the same values on techno.

For their 1st anniversary of the label they bring things full circle as they showcase their second instalment of the Federation of Rytm which follows the debut release from label this time last year. Ten records later and SHDW & Obscure Shape bring to life a new compilation which features 22 tracks: 18 cuts spread over 3 vinyls covered with the label’s neat artwork signature, and 4 digital bonus tracks.

Four Four Premiere: ANNĒ - Blind [Mutual Rytm]

Today we premiere a track from one of the most exciting names in Irish techno, Dylan Fogarty. The youngster debuts on Parisian label and event series @rawppl with his new track 'Da Funky Track' - a raw and bouncing groove that tips a hat to the golden era of 90's techno.

Dylan Fogarty debuts on RAW's infamous Summer Hits VA series for the first edition of the series that supplies all original tracks instead of its usual collection of reworks. The release calls gather a collection of techno producers from various corners of the world to supply some sun-soaked bangers that are sure to be on heavy rotation at festivals, club shows, and open airs this summer. With tracks from Hadone, Under Black Helmet, AK Sports, JKS, Pagan and more the compilation is a strong collection of bangers.

Hailing from Skerries Dylan Fogarty emerged at the tail end of 2022 with a deep and lengthy amount of unreleased techno funk. The newcomer has quickly impressed with a flurry of self-releases as well as featuring on ASW, Rave Your Soul, Concrete Berlin & more. Ireland’s newest arrival of loop-driven techno obsession has been gaining support from some of Europe's most in-demand selectors including DJ Heartstring, Tommy Holohan, Kettama, and more. Running off the back of a landmark Life Festival debut and a string of high-profile club shows, Dylan is a force to be reckoned with, and I'd be keeping a close eye on this talent.

Dylan Fogarty’s contribution to RAW Summer Hit's VA is a refreshing bouncing techno groove that is simply made for festival season. Dylan references the 90's techno scene coming from Sweden as 'Da Funky Track' takes influences from the likes of Adam Beyer & Samuel L. Session. A pulsating bassline plays off well-crafted syncopated drum grooves creating a simplistic yet utterly entrancing funked-up loop. Dylan captures the art of stripped-back techno funk, less is most definitely more when it comes to crafting this style. Outstanding as always.

Our second premiere of the day comes from Rave Residence boss Cameron Glasgow as he features on his own imprint. ‘No More Tears’ is a sun-kissed rave anthem that leans on 90’s trance elements while still clutching onto blooming deep-house grooves.

Hailing from Belfast, Cameron Glasgow has made a name for himself within the UK & Irish club scene. Dedicated to pushing new and emerging talent, the youngster represent a new generation of DJs and producers, blissfully blurring the lines between genres and breaking down barriers for newer name within the scene.

The youngster is best known for his label Rave Residence which has built up a stellar reputation for shining a light on talented emerging artists within rave culture. To date, they have amassed 2m+ streams in tandem with their rapidly growing rave community on social media over half a million members.

The label celebrates it’s 21st release with a single from their very own founder Cameron Glasgow. ‘No More Tears’ is a triumphant anthem that crosses borders between house, trance and techno. The Milan-based artist Alarico has firmly established himself as one of the leading names within techno in recent years. Taking inspiration from the harder realms of techno from the 90s, he adds his own quirky rhythms and quickened sense of groove to showcase his modern take on the genre. He is one of the few new techno producers that has really a unique sound and charisma within his tracks. Using occult samples and granular synthesis to his full advantage the young producer has crafted an inspiring sound that is truly isolated from other producers.

We premiere his latest offering ‘Sino’ taken from is eight-track EP on Mutual Rytm. This locked-groove is simply made for the dancefloor, as sun-kissed dub chords take the front seat on this one, while chunky drums lay the foundation for a stomping rhythm. Alarico leaves his signature imprint all over this, as an infectious vocal hit lays over the top of crispy percussive grooves, making this an instant mood-lifter.

Black Traffic returns to Reboot Records IRE with a full-fledged hardcore laced EP titled “All Of The Lights”. The 5 track offering is comprised of heavy hitting orginal techno weapons, specifically designed to make dancefloors quake. “We have been working on this EP over the last 4 months. We feel like it really shows my growth as an artist in terms of my sound and we wanted to represent that with both the track selection and album artwork. I started out making edits just like the title track and those edits really gave my career a massive boost. But, I wanted this EP to show my more technical side as a producer, especially in the harder side of dance music. I like to incorporate a lot of harder dance styles into my DJ sets, alongside some trance and melodic house elements and I think this EP shows that versatility. Irish techno producer Kerrie returns to Tresor Records on 24th October 2025 with her second EP for the label. Entitled Echoes Of The Live Wire, this collection captures the beauty and essence of live performance — a moment in time never to be repeated.

This fixing of time is also given a different meaning as the EP explores the ways in which intense moments in our lives, both joyful and painful, are crystallised into memory — both beautiful and haunting — lingering long after they've passed.

Layered meanings are employed throughout as Kerrie explores this idea: Live Wire draws connections between circuit boards and the human nervous system, whilst also toying with multiple meanings of the word “live”.

Echoes Of channels classic Detroit techno influences, resonating with the distant hum of memories that refuse to fade, while Moment To Memory is a beatless, floating piece which slowly builds to an ecstatic crescendo.

Dublin’s Mav has become an essential force in contemporary Irish techno. Her approach stands apart from the conveyor-belt sensibilities often associated with the genre today. Local Selection 286: FOLZ

Belfast’s SOPHIE steps up to the Local Selection with an hour of mind-bending cuts. Moving fluidly from low-slung bass grooves to shuffled Illian Tape-esque techno, hard-drum tribal weapons and beyond, firmly proving why she’s one of the island’s most exciting new selectors.

The Social Sounds boss has become a pillar of Belfast’s current scene. She’s part of a new wave of artists steering the vanguard of what can only be described as the city’s new underground guard. Her party offers a true alternative: left-field, challenging sounds that never veer into self-indulgence. It’s undeniably danceable, yet clearly driven by a desire to expand her crowd’s palette, and that’s exactly what SOPHIE has been striving for.

Her DJ approach mirrors this ideology: a wide-ranging, genre-flexible sound that travels through techno, house, dub and beyond. Her selections lean toward the left-field and forward-thinking, shaped by a clear understanding of how to command a dance floor without relying on the obvious.

This mix is an ode to that philosophy—nimble, light on its feet, but never treading lightly. She stacks one bass-heavy cut atop the next, whether it’s an overarching sub-bass monster or a broken-techno, 90s-leaning UK thriller. Wicklow’s CAZ steps up to the Local Selection plate, delivering an hour of irresistible house and loading the 288th edition with anthem after anthem. 

A rapidly rising force in Ireland’s electronic scene, CAZ has already amassed nearly 10 million streams across platforms, showcasing the momentum he’s built in just a few short years. His breakthrough arrived with “My Eyes,” released via Sony, a track that quickly became a defining sound of the summer after landing on Love Island. Heavy rotation on BBC Radio 1 and Capital Dance pushed the record beyond 2 million streams and marked CAZ as a producer with both mainstream reach and undeniable dancefloor instincts.

From there, his trajectory only accelerated. Up next on the Local Selection, we welcome Galway-based DJ Panic Loop to the series. This week’s contribution is a meddling hour of chugging techno that pays homage to various Irish producers throughout. Dial in for the next hour for this impressive showcase.

For the 289th edition of the series, we host Galway-native Panic Loop, a DJ who made their club debut in September 2024, who has become a welcome addition to the cities vibrant club scene, spinning a selection of techno and electro. 

Alternating between numerous all-night-long sets, B2B’s with Data Ryder  and __ in Electric. He’s also had the chance of opening things up in Factory for Bastardo Electrico label-head and Irish techno aficionado Jamie Behan for Rave Culture, as well as an appearance for Galway electro outfit Deep Sea Dweller.

This mix features a range of techno flavours currently on Panic Loops’ periphery. A concoction of mature grooves that incorporates eerily dark, bleepy textures and a variety of hypnotic rhythms over the course of the recording. It is an excellent showcase of true techno. In a ritualistic fashion, incorporating shivering, murky undertones while elevating the energy as the mix progresses. The mix is also a slight nod to some of Ireland’s most prolific producers, featuring Havik, Casey Fable, Aero and Offtrack. Wednesday soundtrack sorted.

Third and final track of the stellar EP, 'Wish I Didn't Miss You' is the perfect round-up to finish everything off. An elegant female vocal hook met with a selection chord progressions, both guitar and piano pave the way for a big drop with basic elements, but very effective at that.

Four Four Global Mix 042 - Boots & Kats

We're delighted to bring you another Four Four premiere, this time it comes from Otto Tito & Factions.

This track comes to us as part of Otto Tito's latest release on COUP, this marks the 13th release on the label and features four original tracks from otto and the remix  of 'Escape artist' which we're premiering. 

Consisting of repetitive piercing synths into hard-hitting techno kicks, nostalgic feelings into futuristic ambience, and so on, Otto Tito delivers four tracks of emotional bangers. For the closing track of the EP, Fractions interprets Escape Artist with gated pads and trance-influenced, fast-paced touches.

Due for release on June 8, 2020, the EP which has been mastered by Havantepe and is club ready,  will be available digitally, and can be preordered now.
