Today we premiere a track by SONIA, titled 'Tiger Suplex'. Sonia has once again utilised his wealth of experience as a music producer and has coupled this with an extensive use of intricate samples in creating a track that possesses an abundance of percussion, resulting in a no frills approach that focuses on the groove. Did we forget to mention that it is also a free download?

Sonia has had a busy summer, making his Life Festival debut as well as performing a headline show in Derry with Meltx. Not to mention a stellar Waterford show courtesy of Reboot Events and a very recent Cellar debut alongside Collie and Kaycee as part of her bimonthly invite series.  

Next up on Sonia's radar you can catch him playing in The Loft in Galway on September 26th with D2AL and in The Sound House in Dublin on October 14th with Phono Collective. 


Sonia is no stranger to creating dance music that spans across a wide spectrum of techno, hard house, donk as well as garage and house music that can also be heard under his Marcus32x moniker. He boasts an array of releases on Zone Focus, Concrete Berlin, SPEED, MOTZ and more and his experience of music production exceeds well over 10 years.

Tiger Suplex focuses on the techno flavour of Sonia's productions while coupling it with old school ad-libs and samples, enriching the noticeability of his production. Bundles of percussion is accompanied with bouncy drum progressions throughout that constantly keeps the tune rolling from start to finish. Resulting in a track that combines techno characteristics with Sonia's distinctive sound that means only one thing. Belter.

Our first premiere of the week comes from Izøtope boss man as he releases a four track EP on his Limerick based imprint. We premiere ‘Tribal Elements’ which does exactly what it says on the tin and provides a trip through Latin and African influenced percussion and rolling techno grooves.

Jon10 has been working immensely hard at creating a sound that is highly influenced by techno of the past, with an onus on 90’s style techno grooves and tribal rhythms. His work in the past has seen him release a number of high profile free downloads, a debut on Infiltrator’s, Sonic Intel imprint and a number of releases on his own imprint Izøtope.

Jon’s style of mixing and producing is derived from 90s/early2000s techno, which is evident with the sharp cuts and thundering grooves found in both his music and sets. Jon10 picked up music production not so long ago and is already embarking on a quest to revive the sounds that once graced the dance floors many decades ago.

The Limerick native now arrives back to Izøtope for the labels first EP with a four tracker from Jon10 along with a remix from Infiltrator. The four track EP explores all corners of the groovier aspects of techno by experimenting and dabbling with hypnotic synths, primitive tribal rhythms, groove infused patterns and dreamy chords. 

Tribal Elements focuses on rolling and swinging percussive grooves, as syncopated rhythms bounce off thundering kicks, the track seem’s to slip and slide through various rhythms yet remains ultimately cohesive. Bongo’s and percs fly around this drum workout and it’s simply irresistible and a a heavenly for those who like their techno tool orientated.
