This is just a quick snippet of the new song we've been working on to tease you, and to whet the appetites of a couple of people. ;-)

Teaser

So we've been busying away at recording a bunch of new tracks, with the plan of releasing an EP in the very near future.  A day or two of hard work in the vocal booth, coupled with a cold temporarily broke Engine 2's voice, so while she rested and recovered it, Engine 1 started having a little play with some sounds that went back to his electronic musical roots.  A chance comment on Twitter resulted in him being given access to all of the original audio recordings for Public Service Broadcasting's "Sputnik" from their brilliant 2015 album The Race for Space.  This was an incredibly generous gesture on the part of PSB's J. Willgoose Esq, and we are very pleased, now that he's heard and not killed us as a result, to share Engine One's remixed version of Sputnik.  It's by no means an official PSB remix - if you like it, thank J Willgoose for letting it happen, and if you don't like it, blame Engine 1 for doing it.  ;-)

This doesn't fit the normal Fourth Engine mould - it was just something Engine One did for a bit of fun, from a comment and a link posted in a facebook group, but it turned out reasonably well.  We hope you enjoy it.

Altitude Sickness

So we haven't thrown out anything new for a wee while, although we have been working on stuff - a couple of new songs, and live versions of the songs from our EP (maybe a cover or two, just for fun).  Engine One decided to have a bit of fun with one of the EP tracks though, and came out with this remix of Sealed.  We hope you like it.

Sealed - Flesh And Bone Remix

This isn't really an official Fourth Engine track, it's really just Engine One flexing what he chooses to describe as his musical muscles.  It started out as a joke, but the more he got working on it, the more effort went into it and it ended up as this - a very affectionate homage to both Radio 4's Shipping Forecast and one of his favourite artists.  Can you guess who that artist might be?  ;-)

The Shipping Forecast

This is a repeat of Engine One's affectionate homage to both (the brilliant) Public Service Broadcasting and Radio 4's Shipping Forecast (as issued by the Met Office on behalf of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency).  It's virtually the same as the version already available here, but I've mixed it slightly differently (thanks to the availability of slightly upgraded tools).

So a wee while ago Engine One had the chance to remix a track by Calling All Astronauts (check them out, by the way - they're fab, especially if you get to see them live).  This is what he came out with.  You might want to go and have a listen to the original too...

Look In Your Eye - Engine One Remix

We are synth-pop duo based in Bristol UK.  We love bacon, tea and cake, in no particular order, and are easily bribed with any or all three.
