This was originally going to be called “A stroll through Parisian streets” but I decided to shorten it so it’s a reference to bread…anyway its meant to be a pretty up beat little piece.

Parisian  (Acoustic Guitar - Chord Melody)

Song I wrote and recorded today. Started off with the riff on the acoustic and then wrote some more on the electric, liked the sound of both so I will try and record the electric version some time soon.
Recorded the Vocal and Guitar together "as live" and then added some slide playing (which I very rarely do) playing my acoustic on my lap (which I even more rarely do). I then decided to go against tradition and add a backing vocal part. I'm happy with the way it turned out as I spent very little time on it. I hope you enjoy it.

Where Do They Go (Acoustic Version)

This is my cover of Billy Bragg's A New England. I have included the third verse which I've heard Mr Bragg play live as a tribute to Kirsty MacCall.

I recorded this on my phone to give the good people of SoundCloud something new from me to listen to (I know you have all been waiting very patiently for years and I give you a phone recording?!). Then did some quick edits in Audacity.

So I set myself a challenge to do a chord-melody arrangement with no repeating chords shapes (altered voicings allowed) and a chord per melody note. The image is of the chords for the ending if you want to play along! (with a nice chromatic descending bass line there).

Here is my version of Addicted to love by Robert Palmer. I played it at the Cave's in Bolton Open Mic Night (apologies to Hank and Vamper for not letting them know but it was last minute ;)). Photo from that. This is a home recording so you good people can hear it too.

I've got a little EP of punk songs that I hope to record in a standard punk trio way (electric guitar, bass and drums) soon in a normal way. This is one of them.

No overdubs, it's me recording direct to a stereo pair and I've just added some light reverb. I'm kicking the table the mics are on to get the bass drum sound.

I've got this fake Telecaster, see, and I've been meaning for a while to make it lower in tuning. Tonight was the night for that. A long while ago I got hold of some RotoSound 13s (roto grey) and the idea was to restring my guitar with these and tune to B to b baritone tuning. However, to lessen the cost of the experiment, even more, I decided I'd just use the 54w and knock those good for nothing other strings down a peg, but not two, until one was sure to fall off the fretboard. Playing around with the prerequisite surf type sounds that befit the kind of baritone playing I'm most likely to do I came up with this little ditty.

So I've turned a fake Telecaster into a fake baritone Telecaster!

The idea of the book is to give enough information so that any chord can be created by the player. It doesn't try to replicate every possible chord (which is overwhelming anyway) or only give a few normal chords (which you can soon outgrow). 

There are also scales shown relative to chord shapes and a 'chords in the key' quick reference at the back.
