THE HOUSE ON THE HILL

My Entry for a challenge I found on the "Composer Challenges" Facebook Group.

What a difficult but wonderful experience finding your own voice between two gods like John Williams and Hans Zimmer who, in their different ways and with different vision of the character, have already said pretty much everything.

As with almost every DC characters there were so many different POV on the character, the Campy Boy-Scout, The American symbol, the new Messiah, the alien from another world and so On.

I was really inspired by Zack Snyder's view of this hero powerful like a God but 100% human in his soul, suffering rejection and even hate from the scared people. One of the thing that Snyder didn't had the time to develop was if He ever felt Guilty about the many people who died or lost their home or their job while he was fighting General Zod, destroying Smallville and Metropolis or if He ever felt guilt for bringing this huge destruction in his adoptive planet.

So I've created a suite that embraces both his sad feelings of guilt and the realization that he was doing the right thing and given all of himself to protect more peoples than possible and he is actually doing the right thing.

SUPERMAN THEME - DOING THE RIGHT THING

My first demo for the Pianobook community. I was testing the beautiful "Steinway Grand" library and got the inspiration for this main motif which gave me a pretty detective/thriller vibe. 

A bit of the "St. Helen's Cantores" Lybrary and LABS Frozen Cello later and here is the track.

This was originally intended to be the main title of a period drama TV series in which I collaborated as a composer's assistant. We then decided to arrange it differently but I still think this work really well.
After playing a bit with the "Harpsichord" Library (https://www.pianobook.co.uk/library/harpsichord/) I decided to use this track as a demo. The piano is the "Winter Felt Piano Prototype" (https://www.pianobook.co.uk/library/winter-felt-piano-prototype/) and the ghostly violins come directly from the LABS Frozen Strings Library from Spitfire Audio.
