I would like to thank the pianist and composer Joseph Haspel  so much for his wonderful performance of Farewell.  He has delivered a sensitive yet powerfully moving performance.  Thank you again Joe and thank you for your amazing compositions @joseph-haspel.

Joe suggested we release this work on Memorial Day.  It is a day after all that we remember, cherish and honor those fallen heroes who were once with us.  And this work was inspired by the memory of one of my heroes, my mum.  It was written many many years ago but has over time spawned many works. 

Farewell was originally part of a piano piece that I decided to orchestrate.  That work is posted here and is called Flight.  The section of Flight that this Farewell comes from also led to two versions of Farewell an Adagio for Strings and also a string quintet version too.  All of these works are listed below, but this piano only work is the original version where it all started.

It is wonderful when a previously released song has enough potential energy to be released as a new song in a different genre.  So it is with this song first inspired by Thommo last spring in a collaboration with him and Ren Faye called "Dream Catching".  I liked the initial soundscape and guitar parts enough that I wanted to do a separate acoustic release under a different title.  Debra Buesking's definitive artistry entered the picture when we were teasing ideas for another collaboration.  I submitted this to her, she loved it, and now graces it with her superb playing, actually re-inventing the song.  More of her fine music can be heard @debra_buesking 
Imagine a windswept veranda. a couple dancing to distant thunder, passions building and breaking as the storm approaches. Well, well, well...this one crept into Monday...and Monday evening at that. I took a long weekend in Monterey and lost some valuable production time in doing so. Oh well, very much worth it.

I use a complete hybrid of organic & electronic sounds within the scope of the Taffeta project. Nothing is out of the question and no limits are set on how things may evolve one way or another.

The moon's orbit around earth is elliptical, with one side closer to earth than the other. As a result, the distance between the moon and earth varies throughout the month and the year. The point on the moon's orbit closest to earth is called the perigee and the point farthest away is the apogee.  This piece was constructed to give a musical sense of this spacial reality by going from apogee to perigee and then back to apogee.

Kate Bush's song "Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)" is one of my favourite songs from the 80's, so I thought I'd make a Kate Bush remix with some inspiration from Porter Robinson. This was the hardest remix I have ever made, but it was definitely worth it. Hope you all like it and thanks for listening!
