back in the day, silent black/white films would be accompanied by a pianist.. these are so evocative, i can so hear you playing that role

oh man, so delightfully creative & fun! Love the mysterious yet playful vibe, and that use of metronomes in the track is so cool! (I did that once, but it was by accident, but it sounded neat so I left it in).

I saw a video of a catfish eating a pigeon that had come to drink water on the banks of the Seine River that runs through Paris. From the catfish's perspective, it's easier to eat an unsuspecting pigeon than to go to the trouble of chasing a small fish. The TV commentary said, "Humans build cities, and nature acquires new adaptations." The number of bears in Japan has become so large that they are coming down from the forests into urban areas and attacking people. Global warming has made Japan's summers harsher, depriving us of the opportunity to enjoy the autumn leaves in our beloved forests.

Idris is a genetically modified human, engineered to navigate spaceships through "sub-space" - allowing ships to traverse enormous distances. As such, he's a tremendously valuable asset and vulnerable to kidnapping. There are other costs: the process of navigation means being aware of the presence of terrifying entities that seem to wallow in sub-space... Another track inspired by Adrian Tchaikovsky's "Shards of Earth" novel.

The dusky sounding guitar is my Gibson 335 - I love the warm but crisp bite of those humbuckers!

Reassuringly Confused

revenge is a primitive vile trait that is also unfortunately prevalent and powerful.It causes senselessbrutal violence, that in the end solves no problems and creates a recurring cycle of more violence. The notion to avenge ones ancestors I suppose has to do with a sense of guilt if you "do nothing" but I think you can forgive for the sake of creating a peaceful future for your children without forgetting the qualities of the ancestors or acknowledging their worth.
