Weird Sounding Dude is a Bangalore based music producer/DJ. He has always enjoyed a place in the underground dance music culture. His trademark chuggy grooves and squelchy rhythms are sure to satisfy his audience but there are always a few surprises along the way.

As it happens with a lot of artists, only DJ’ing wasn’t enough for his musical expedition, so he embarked on a journey to prove his worth as a self-taught producer. Drawing his influences from the likes of James Holden, Extrawelt, Nathan Fake, and Worakls. Being a regular on the charts of Beatport, his music has gained continuous support from the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Cid Inc., Nick Warren, Guy Mantzur, Guy J, Nick Muir, and many more.

He has already made a mark in the underground circuit with releases on Sudbeat, The Soundgarden, Souksonic, Hoomidaas, Kindisch, Plattenbank, Perspectives Digital, onedotsixtwo, Clubsonica Recordings, Juicebox Music, Eat My Hat Music, Balkan Connection, 3rd Avenue, Tarnished Tracks, If You Wait Music, Strangers Beats, Strange Town Recordings, Stripped Recordings among many others. Well-known blogs Progressive Astronaut, Change Underground, Underground Tel-Aviv, When We Dip, Nie Wieder Schlafen, Melodic Deep Bespoke Music, Husa Sounds have shown regular interest in his tracks.

He has also made a mark on the DJ circuit by performing at music festivals like Sunburn, R.E.S.E.T., La Foresta (Sri Lanka), Ctrl Alt Dance, Krank, Locals District. 
He’s had the privilege to perform alongside the likes of Nick Warren, Sebastien Leger, Stan Kolev, Jimpster, Vaal, Dauwd, BOg, Ziger, Navar, Kastis Torrau. He was also nominated under the Techno category for MyFav Awards (2014-15).

It’s safe to say that this “Dude” in particular isn’t just another kid on the block. His voyage has slowly started to take shape with no intention of slowing down.

This UK based upcoming talent caught our eye a few months back with one of his sessions. We quickly felt that he was someone our podcast was missing out on, so it was only a matter of time that we invited him as our next guest.

Essco believes the quality music should utilise the key driving forces of several electronic genres. “I try to incorporate the euphoria of trance, the groove of house and the mood of techno”. 

He has released on various respected labels including Fragrant and JOOF and gained support from world famous DJ’s. Essco’s sound has been described as something that is filled with personality and emotion but also hits hard on the dance-floor.

breaks and techno as a DJ, producer/engineer, radio host, and label-owner.
James' presence in the progressive electronic music scene is felt far & wide - whether it be through his monthly radio show Friction on the internationally renowned Proton Radio, or through his globally recognised progressive house label Late Night Music. With a lifelong love of progressive electronic music underpinning everything he does, James’ ability to connect with an audience has seen him perform to dancefloors across Australia, championing his sound and skills at iconic festivals, clubs, and warehouse parties.
            James’ studio original productions and remixes have received widespread support from industry giants such as Nick Warren, Anthony Pappa, Jamie Stevens, Subandrio, Kasey Taylor, Nicholas
Rada, Praveen Archary, Sonic Union, Maceo Plex and more - while artists such as Dmitry Molosh, Golan Zocher, Robert Babicz, Ewan Rill, and Loco & Jam have remixed his work.
           His ear for sound sees James working professionally as an engineer at his own 4Sound studio - while also working out one of the Southern Hemisphere’s most well-regarded audio workshops - JTB
Deluxe Mastering Facility - helping artists to perfect their mix and achieve their musical vision in the studio. In 2022, James released his second EP ‘Silicon’ on Late Night Music, with the remixes reaching
industry spotlight being played by Guy Mantzur during a b2b set with Guy J at Loveland Amsterdam Festival, plus a radio play on Hernan Cattaneo’s Resident Episode #597 - While in 2021 his
collaboration ‘Zenticle’ with fellow Melbourne artist Liam Sieker saw huge support from industry and music fans around the world.
