Released in Q4 2021, at it's peak this release made it to the top 10 on Beatport or all Drum and Bass releases.

A dark, mechanical vibe brings the “Capitalism” machine to life groaning on through evil atmospherics as beat awakens and the intensity skyrockets through the build. The tension is high as the drop flips into a high energy composition of crazy neurofunk madness with upbeat energy and ‘in your face’ attitude. Rabid beats run through the measures pounding relentlessly. The phrases flip intertwining synthesized melodies that spin and soar amidst the carnage as the bassline beats brutally beneath. The second drop brings an even bigger bang with a deadly delay and massive neck breaking energy with creative variety that just doesn’t quit. FractalOne delivers smart sound design and abundant animation balanced in creative composition and tonal range.

“Power” packs a potent punch as sinister synths stalk the build on rough and ridged highs with an eerie essence festering in the distance. A brisk blast kicks the rhythm into high gear with bubbling beats setting the pace in an anxious symphony of dynamic neurofunk design. The bassline cuts the composition halting the hunt as it resonates its own revenge slicing and dicing the final phase of the build as it bounces and slingshots through the drop. A quick vocal cuts sets it up slamming straight into another dimension with no holds barred. Rubbery basslines control the composition slamming and winding through the measures as the snare snaps furiously with colorful flavor shredding through the phrases with murderous magnificence. Electrifying effects emulate while the breaks flip and thrash the floor to bits. Full, thick, and intelligently designed with technical brilliance FractalOne’s “Power” is a forceful and ferocious to dominate the mix in the most savage way.

The Cognitive Dissonance EP is the result of months of psychedelic sound design blended with a Neurofunk style that gels it all together. After playing with psytrance production for the first time in a decade, trying to create the signature sounds found within the genre while making a track in memory of TN.EXE/Astroscope (Tenille), the mission was to implement them into neurofunk/techy drum & bass. This is what gives the release its unique feel and vibe throughout.

The journey was years in the making; it's a culmination of life experience and passion for sound design. The primary inspiration for the release can be traced to years of psytrance and drum & bass festivals and events, and the inspiration was drawn from trying to meld these together.

The release is dedicated to Tenille, James' late soulmate and close friend to Ross, a Drum & Bass DJ who loved both Psytrance and Techy Drum & Bass and was created just a couple of months after she left us in late 2020. After building a life together in Melbourne, Aus and then moving to China and representing Unchained Asia, Tenille and James both played gigs together all over the country and travelled the world attending various festivals. One festival that left a real mark was an event in Germany called Freqs of Nature, this was a 7-day festival held at an abandoned WW2 airfield a couple of hours out of Berlin, featuring Heavy Neurofunk artists and Dark Psytrance artists. The vibe was psychedelic, but ominous at the same time, a tone that is woven throughout this release.

FractalOne's  release on Neuroheadz is sure to push the boundaries of sonic character in the genre. The title track, "Overton Window," is their take on bringing Acid Psytrance sounds into Neurofunk, with crunchy basses laced with fast-paced leads, this track will surely take you on a jouney exploring the abstract complexity of their vision.

On the flip side, we have "Deep State," a dark and mysterious track with an almost entrancing technoid style rolling vibe. Crisp synths and crunchy bass drive the track, morphing glitch sound design into an aggressive sound palette with a funky groove to tie it all together.

We have a release coming soon with the onesevenfour label, it's another side of us but we love to dabble.

TN.EXE a.k.a TN or Tenille Coman was the colourful, bright and bubbly DJ, playing the deepest, darkest Drum & Bass at Unchained events. One of Unchained Asia's biggest fans, turned members and was proud to be part of South Asia’s most active DnB group. 
Hailing from Melbourne Australia, a city with a flourishing, active and heavy hitting DnB family/community, she admired Unchained’s vision to become the very same and loved to watch this actualise here in Shenzhen from its humble beginnings 4 years ago. 

After being a long time fan of the genre, learning how to DJ was only natural for her and she picked it up with ease due to her immense passion for the music. 
"When I heard Drum and Bass in 2013 I knew that this was the sound for me, I can feel it with my soul."


She had the honour or playing alongside some of the biggest in the business such as The Upbeats, Whiney, Sinistarr, SubP Yao, Anna Morgan, Fractale and Makoto as well as the Unchained crew.
She spread her love for Drum & Bass with crowds here in China in multiple cities and loved every second of it. If she wasn’t up on stage smashing the decks, she was in the front row, a true lover and supporter of the craft.

She grew strong bonds with the other members of the Unchained crew and valued her place in it. She felt it gave her drive, purpose and motivation to achieve more things in her life. 
Watching her develop as an artist was a true honour for us in the Unchained family. 
A super creative and free spirit, a true artisan in hair, makeup and music.
She has left her mark on the scene here, her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of those that had the opportunity to meet her the world over.

This set is a mix of music she played out, wanted to play in upcoming sets, loved and some tunes that were a special part of our (James') 7 year long relationship.
 
Opening with a tune we made dedicated to her a mix of tech and high energy style DnB called Neon Reflections.
