Clair de Lune transposed into C major. Colloquially, "romantic".

I have not tested this piece for its audio quality on anything but my headphones, so please be warned of that. It has some stereo tricks, so it is designed for that.

Finally finished this project just in time for Valentine's day, exactly six months after this came to me in a dream.

I had the foresight to jump out of bed and hum the tune into my mic and make a recording so I wouldn't lose it.

Then I made a rough cut of the transposition (measures 9-27) to see if this project was worth putting the time in to complete and polish. Survey results said: yes.

I can't read music, so I had to go through a rather lengthy and arduous process to transcribe the full sheet music into Note:Octave form, and then translate that into FL Studio. That took me a few months because it was boring as FUCK.

The actual transposition process only took me a few days. It was a lot more enjoyable than just doing glorified data entry. 

The polish I added on top (dynamics, stereo effects, instrument effects) was super fun. It's kind of a shame that it was the last half a day or so of the process.

Transposing Clair de Lune from Db Major to C Major is actually relatively straightforward for most of the piece. There were a handful of spots where I really had to tweak the music to get the same vibe. Of course, those are the spots that I'm the most proud of.

There's a particularly evil section in Clair de Lune where the key shifts to C# Minor for four measures. In this piece, I shifted it to A# Minor. (Funny story, I cheekily thought to put it in C# Minor first, but thought it didn't work very well, so I researched the original keys of Clair de Lune and what key shift it did (and the relationship between the two); after doing all this research, I decided that A# Minor would be the best... just to discover that they have exactly the same note set.)

I did a lot of research and needed some outside help for understanding everything that was going on in the sheet music. Music is something I have a good intuition for, but almost no formal training or discipline around. So this was a pretty challenging project and it feels really good to have finally completed it.

The most difficult measure to transpose was measure 51. I think I tried probably around 30 variations on it before I found something I thought was good.
