To test my recording gear for the first time in about 2years, I thought I'd jam out some therapy tunes... of course, i got carried away trying out loads of different mics and overdubbed all sorts of nonsense! Original live take consisting of 2x Red5Audio RV4's at the bridge and neck, 2x RV8's as room mics, a stereo ATM849 on the floor, a AKG D5 for the vocal (with a big pop filter on it) and a Dave Hall DH1 for the acoustic DI, then I added a clean and dirty guitar using 2x SM57's, then 2xSM58's on my Orange 4x12 with my Tech21 Trademark300 on top and also took the simulated DI output from the amp... I recorded a couple of vocal overdubs with my Red5Audio RV8's, then i got adventurous and recorded some bongos with a couple of RVD9's and then did a Djembe with a AKG D112 up the bum and a ATM25 on the top. I've still got a few mics to try out so I'll probably do another tune tomorrow...

A Light In The Trees

After seeing John Carpenter live, I've been obsessed with his live version of Christine Attacks from his 1983 film "Christine". As there's no recorded version of this song, other than recordings from phones from other live performances, I took to the garage band app on my phone and layered and layered tracks of different synth keys until I had my own version.

This is the result.
