About P^KNT€ 

Remixing, sampling, synthesis, DIY, noise, dismantling, reassembling, and glitching. During their adolescence, they listened to a lot of hardcore/punk, and that's how it all began. P^KNT€ is an artist and researcher from Argentina, currently living in Barcelona. They are interested in mixing styles, techniques, noise, and technology. They perform live sessions, live coding, DJ sets, performances, and audiovisual projects. Through the use of samplers, synthesizers, effects, and collaborations, they create their songs. At times, they become melodic, although noise is always present. They take the idea of a performance as a structure perverted by improvisation, a process that alters the meaning of harmony, melody, and rhythm. Musically, their productions range from IDM to Noise, punk, and unexpected blends of folklore, guaracha, breakbeat, noise, d&b, and grime, on the edge of the post-club scene.

FRAGMENT-A is a Latin American label dedicated to making Rhythmic Experiments in Electronic Music visible, founded in 2019 by Feli Cabrera López (Efe Ce Ele) and currently co-managed with Nico Lettieri Lodigiani (P^KNT€). With the premiere of the track "TORMENTA DE ARENA" we celebrate its revival. The goal of the platform is to make Experimental Rhythms visible and to expand the Latin American Electronic Music scene inside and outside the geographical borders. On August 1st will be the launch of the EP, on July 28th they will make an event with Bungalovv, YOZY and NxHxR in Barcelona, and will soon open a call for a VA with different artists and electronic music genres.

There are two ways to deal with a Sandstorm. The first is to run, run fast and get away. The second is to stop, look into hers, and run toward her. Crossing it is dangerous, at first you can't see anything and we may not make it to the other side. But if we don't get lost in the attempt, there is an instant where we begin to see a beam of light among the sand. If we continue without getting lost, that light becomes stronger and stronger until it tints absolutely everything. It rains and we are no longer the same. Be that as it may, after the storm there is always calm.

BAILEMOS HASTA QUE DUELA DE PLACER VOL 2

𝗦𝗢𝗣𝗢𝗥 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

SOPOR 2025 es una serie de mixes de música electrónica contemplativa curada por @didacta, presentada como residencia del colectivo bogotano Mariposa. A partir de la segunda semana de enero este espacio acoge exploraciones sonoras profundas y conceptuales.

Cuando Didacta me invitó a compartir un set Introspectivo lo primero que pensé fue en hacer un set de ambient estricto, sin percusiones, sin rítmicas acentuadas. Pero cuando empecé a armarlo pensé que me estaba yendo a una idea predefinida de lo Introspectivo con la que no estoy de acuerdo y decidí explorar una idea más personal sobre la introspección: escuchando, eligiendo músicas que me llevaran a ese lugar sin pensar tan explícitamente en los recursos formales que las componen.

Dado que no vengo de ser DJ sino compositora/productora tocando en formato Live y caí en los clubes/raves por una especie de flujo inevitable - relacionado a algunas de las músicas que hago -, cuando elijo música de otras personas me gusta que se escuchen temas completos, sin demasiado artilugio y que mi intervención venga más desde la curaduría que desde la mezcla. En este set puntualmente hice la selección pensando en la voz, elegí la mayoría de los tracks teniendo en cuenta que sea música electrónica que usa la voz como recurso; y también música que hace uso de otros instrumentos no electrónicos, pero que los lleva a producciones evidentemente electrónicas.

Si bien es una “política” personal en todas las cosas que curo, cabe mencionar que varixs de lxs artistas en este compilado son personas no-binarixs o mujeres y también una buena parte son artistas del sur global. También cabe aclarar que esto no es por una idea de “cupos” superficial, sino porque sé que muchxs grandes artistas (increíbles!) están invisibilizadxs por los mismos sistemas de opresión que ya conocemos y que su escaso reconocimiento no tiene nada que ver con su talento. De alguna manera me gusta poder poner la música de estas personas junto a la música de hombres, personas blancas y gente del norte, bien reconocidos/as (que me encanta lo que hacen), para que dialoguen y también para que en una escucha continua sea evidente que se comparte el mismo nivel.

substitute es el álbum debut de XIWIRE en Fragment A, sello Latinoamericano con base en Barcelona dedicado a la visibilización de los colectivos migrante y queer de Abya Yala (aka Latinoamérica) dentro y fuera de sus fronteras geográficas. Proveniente de Caracas, Venezuela XIWIRE se incursiona en la producción de música electrónica a través de la práctica de livecoding, generación de música a través de código escrito en vivo. Mente inquieta por naturaleza, programa sus propios sintetizadores y herramientas de producción y generación musical, los cuales combina con cajas de ritmo y sintetizadores modulares. Su sonido ata sus diversas inspiraciones, entre ellas, la música underground de Internet, el metal y la música de rave, buscando la convivencia de ritmos rotos, texturas abrasivas y arpegios esperanzadores, en un constante coqueteo con el ruido. substitute es el resumen de 5 años de exploración musical en la electrónica emprendido como un escape de sí misma. A través de un hilo de improvisaciones en vivo grabadas directo de máquinas, es un intento de afrontar el fracaso con dignidad, comunicar sin usar la palabra, y barajar la posibilidad de la esperanza en momentos oscuros. Sintetizadores frágiles sostenidos por capas de ruido, arpegiadores desvariantes y ritmos rotos, coqueteando con el umbral entre lo abrasivo y lo etéreo. Sintético sin vergüenza, confesional para quien quiera entenderlo.

COMP 1 is the first compilation of Latinamerican artists that have participated of the Estéticas Expandidas (EE) events and Festivals, edited and distributed by Fragment-A Label Latinamérica, and curated by Feli Cabrera López and Javier de la Fuente. This compilation has different approaches to sound and music research, it goes from electronic beats, break rhythms and techno, to ambient soundscapes, minimalist music and pure binaural vibrations. The album shows the diversity of works that has been included in the EE proposals along previous years, and its aim is to visibilize the greatest potential of electronic art scene in Latinamerica.
