Following on from the pensive ambience of his last release, jung latch’s upcoming ‘len sen’ EP marks a foray into dystopic club territory heightened a sense of controlled chaos. Hypnogogic textures clash with mechanical hellscapes to sonify a technodysphoric wasteland of lost futures invoking an anime Mark Fisher. The sterile posthuman scenery of Batman Beyond, Akira and The Animatrix all serve as an inspiration in creating an atmospheric sense of unease.

"- [x] amidst a thoroughly rubbish summer I’ve been regressing to my angsty teenage tastes and have been finding solace in the sonic fog of sludge/doom/drone metal and heavier shoegaze bits. I’m seeing this reflected in my own production where I’m melding these wide, noisy soundscapes with intricate generative jungle breaks and also not being afraid to dive into purely melodic and often incredibly cheesy song writing"

"This mix is a little compilation of projects stored in memory sticks, hidden beneath folds of fabric. 
All these projects helped develop my practice of field recording and manipulation using live coding, instrumentation and electronic production.
We begin with a sonic journey of Sri-Lanka (my home country) with tracks under the title “To Dunhinda Falls” which was an AV project, films created from collected footage. Next to some singer/ song writer style pieces with “Foreign Tongue” half a recent performance for Dialled In using detuned piano samples and expanded techniques. Finally ending in “To Henry” a sonic journey to the Organ at London Bridge, overlayed with compositional work."

"Hello! this is a collage consisting of original swallow music. I have been making music under swallow for nearly 10 years. i started making noises because I wanted to discard a bunch of CDs into attics and underpasses and bushes with obscure and anonymous sounds burnt on to them. Something about that made me laugh, go figure. so swallow music has always meant to feel like it has been found, origin, date and time unknown. From a distant future or past, weathered by time and untethered from coherent thoughts and through lines. it lets me untether chaotic impulses and reach for distant touchstones. perhaps they are fragments that will only be of interest in a thousand years. Hugely misleading artefacts of the time we live now. 

Throughout this piece, there are sounds and voices from my film ‘Torrents’. It is a film about things lost in transit, things lost as our modern transience erodes the permanence of physical memories and artefacts. 

This is an ode to the things and people we lose. A lost property office.

"this mix reflects on this year where i took a looser approach with music and reconnected with the dancefloor in a new way, embracing the small moments where it was about turning up and seeing where things go.

in this vein it's done in one take, with a lot of the tunes mixed for the first time, finding joy in mixing out of situations, as ropey as it can be sometimes.

so here is some sludge that folds into self, then unfurls and flails into down right ratchetness."
