The FWL Series, a new project featuring a selection of live mixes from artists and parties across the UK, and beyond. 

FWL 001 | Will Catlin, Birdsong @ Meraki

To kickstart the series, we have an hour from Will Catlin. This live mix was recorded at the launch of his techno outfit, Birdsong at Meraki in Liverpool (08/01/2022). The mix portrays all aspects of his style, encompassing both old and new groove with harder, euphoric tracks. 

Will featured on our FWP Series just over a year ago and we are so happy to invite him onto the FWL and witness his rise across the North West. The next Birdsong event is set to be an unmissable 10 hour display of techno, day through to night, featuring three well renowned headliners and a specially selected group of rising local talents.

FWL 003 | Jay Clarke

For the third instalment of our live mix series we are throwing it back to March last year with an hour and a half from Jay Clarke, live from Stage and Radio Manchester. 

Best known for his energetic and groovy peak-time DJ sets across Europe and beyond, he draws significant influence from 90’s Techno, seamlessly blending together modern rollers with percussive loopy hard-groove, alongside straight-up heavy bangers.

As a producer, he is a trusted Klockworks artist, he’s contributed two acclaimed EPs (KW18, KW28) and a track (‘Perdita’) to the KW20 compilation, while Ben Klock has selected him to play Photon events at Berghain, Bassiani and Awakenings at Gashouder.

He embodies a groovy, driving sound that puts the listener in a lustful dancing mood.
His rhythmic sound perfectly describes the atmosphere LUST tries to create.

The inauguration of ‘Alarico’ occurred in 2019 after previously exploring several sub-genres of Techno. The alias was formed as a statement to showcase a style that was personal to him. Personal in a way that he became captivated within the patterns and structures of his own sound, strongly shaped by the raw and forward-leaning sound of 90’s Techno.
Alarico continues to position himself as a unique music lover, continuing to explore the depths and possibilities of sound. He stands for continuously pushing boundaries and stirring this attitude with his background of Hip Hop and Japanese culture.

My next guest on Yax Invites is Brandyy, a techno DJ based in Hannover, Germany. 

Together with friends he owns the @kollektivsynergie label and has been DJing for two years now. The label runs a weekly podcast series and has released several EP‘s and a VA. Brandyy has focused on fast paced old school/hard groove style of techno. His passion for the music was found in the Hannover club scene especially at Klub Pan.

For the second instalment of our live mix series we have American producer and selector, providing an hour from a party in Minneapolis, Minnesota - where he is currently based. 

Lately, Lonefront has been working on developing alternative tuning systems and new approaches to programming sound. This mix contains fragments of these experiments, with deep driving bass and hypotonic rhythms effortlessly intertwined.
