Named a ‘stellar edits provider’ by Mixmag and the ‘nu-disco don’ by Juno, Andy Buchan​ has become one of the most consistent names in the disco and edit scene for the past few years with chart-topping releases on dozens of disco-fried labels including Peppermint Jam, Hot Digits, Midnight Riot, Paper Disco and on his own Hot Gorilla Records imprint.

Hot Gorilla Records launched with a bang including several Juno Download No.1s, multiple Traxsource Top 10s and four tracks in the Best of 2021 Beatport chart, while their 2nd Birthday Compilation hit the Juno No.1 spot for several weeks.

The label has had repeat plays from BBC 6 Music and support from Greg Wilson, Horse Meat Disco and Craig Charles. Hot Gorilla Records also supported The Brand New Heavies on their 2021 sell-out tour across the UK.

Andy’s own music has been picked up for reviews in DJ Mag and Mixmag, plus radio support from 6Music and Rinse FM and club and festival plays from big-name DJs including Bicep, Claptone, Horse Meat Disco, Greg Wilson, Peggy Gou, Justin Robertson, Electric Chair and more. And he was also asked to enter his music collection into the British National Library Sound Archive.

Mustache Disko - The San Francisco Summer 2022

Black Light Disco returned to the Myhouseradio.fm airwaves with a show that’s literally baking in its own juices! It’s been hot out there, folks and we have a real late summer vibe to chill your mind and cool your beans.

Hosting the show this week is our resident Esteban, who has been trawling the music library here in BLD Towers for mid-tempo delights which smell of late August haze and beer gardens. Lined up are tracks from The Magic Track, Phonk D, Jisco Dazz, Kristoff MX, Never Dull and Cuz Electric / Rough Diamond. 

Our very special guest this week enjoys that rare ‘legendary’ status as a producer and DJ - the one and only Oldchap! 

Hailing from France, Oldchap has been a staple of the disco and edits scene over the last 6 years. The guy is a ‘crate digger extraordinaire’ (which we of course love) and his mantra of always playing the right track at the right time is something we can all get on board with too. As a producer, Oldchap has an impressive list of labels under his belt including Spa In Disco, Hot Digits, Slightly Transformed, Sundries Digital and Spin Cat music. We’re delighted to welcome him for his BLD debut and know you’re going to be blown away by this.

This episode was a very special one indeed, with someone who is for me a truly unbelievable guest. To warm things up I took my usual trip through promos and classics, mixing up the BPMs and styles a good bit and having lots of fun with some wonderful tunes. 

Anyway, this fortnight it was really all about the second hour - I was truly honoured and humbled to welcome on somebody who’s a bit of a hero to me. I like to make edits, and this guy is truly the master of that craft… quite possibly the best in the world at it, someone who takes it to a whole new level and then some. If I could make edits even half as good as The Reflex I’d be a very happy man, and he’s very kindly taken the time to mix up an exclusive hour of his trademark Revisions for the show. Needless to say it’s excellent, and I’m hugely thankful to Nicolas for the mix.

Originating from Brighton, UK and currently based in Belfast, Gregg Holmes AKA Fingerman has moved between styles ranging from Techno to House before finding his feet with Disco for the last decade. He set up a vinyl residency at the legendary Casablanca Jazz club spinning strictly extended disco twelves which led to his own DJ friendly edits surfacing on Soundcloud and Bandcamp.

His editing style soon caught the ears of many respected DJs on the scene such as Dimitri in Paris and Greg Wilson (who has charted Fingerman edits consecutively for 5 years even to the point of releasing a few of them on his own vinyl imprint A&R edits)

Fingerman set up his own record label “Hot Digits Music” in 2014 and has been releasing tracks and remixing on labels such as Tropical Disco, Samosa Records, Re-Loved, Paper Records, Chopshop, Midnight Riot, Masterworks, Hotbox Boogie, Wall Of Fame and Discodat. 

Hot Digits Music alongside vinyl only offshoot “Wax Digits”, has been placed at the coveted number one slot on Juno Download on many occasions releasing up and coming, established editors and original artists such as Dr Packer, Hotmood, Late Nite Tuff Guy, OOFT!, Situation, Get Down Edits, C.  Fran Deeper (Palma de Mallorca, Spain) is, without a doubt, one of the most important references of the House / Nu-Disco scene. He's the owner of the prestigious record label Spa in Disco, which has published more than 100 titles in digital format. Some of them have reached the number one position on the sales charts, while many others have been repeatedly featured in the Top 100 of the most important digital platforms like Junodownload, Beatport, or Traxsource.

His extensive musical career and Nu-Disco Underground with electronic touch style has opened him the doors to some of the most prestigious DJ booths all over the world: Madrid, Mexico City, Ibiza, Tulum, London, Guadalajara, Berlin, San Francisco, Marseille, Jakarta, Barcelona, Milan, Stockholm or Bali, to name a few.
