Max Newton makes his debut on Hot Digits with the mouth-watering ‘Danziger Cuts’, a four track EP that has secrets to tell!
Max goes in boots showing with the first track, ‘One Two’ – a wobbly, bouncy pan-pot busting, horn blasting funk-driven piece that could easily be the soundtrack to a 24-hour
drinking session in downtown Manhattan with Elmer Gantry himself. At a deceptive 115bpm, it’s a perfect early doors dance floor rumble. Bring your flares.
Next up is track 2, the mysterious and enchanting ‘Nightwalker’. The tempo is brought right down here with 105bpm slo-mo groove that weaves hypnotic beats, spine-tingling sweeps
and ominously chunky bass into a heady potion of pure lust. Once the horny sax and alto-flute are introduced you have a stone-cold groove that taps you on the shoulder and leads you into a house of disrepute.
Track 3 sees Mr Newton unleash his inner Chewy Rubs with the aptly titled ‘Funky Jam’. This track wears its heart on its sleeve from the off – straddling the thin line between disco
house and peak-time party piece, it bounces along with zero fupps given. The hooky bass, infectious guitar licks, twisted brass and vocal samples are expertly put into the mixing bowl and the outcome is tremendous. High fives all round.
Closing the curtain on this hot toastie of an EP is ‘Chickenburger’, a thumping Balearic Beat inspired kaleidoscopic treat brimming with confidence and charm. So left-of-field and so different, this dippy and trippy slider wouldn’t sound out of place in somewhere like
‘Shoom’ way back when. Rhumba rock me, baby!
Danziger Cuts fits into the Hot Digits stable like a perfectly formed hand in a perfectly formed glove. An outstanding debut from Max which leaves you wanting more.

Meet Nicola Mannini, an Italian-born DJ now soaking up the beats in the vibrant streets of London.
Back in 2000, at the tender age of 15, he dove into the world behind the decks, inspired by the vibes of the '70s and '80s - thanks to the tunes his parents spun on an old turntable during his childhood.

Fuelled by this passion, Nicola had the privilege of starting by spinning tracks at fashion events and catwalks - the perfect backdrop for those vibes.

Along his journey, he had the honour of sharing stages with some notable names and curating events that were memorable.
Now, at the age of 38, Nicola is not slowing down; instead, he's curious to see where the music takes him next, in the city he proudly calls home.

Last July, he dropped his debut single, "Up All Night," available on all major platforms.

Catch him spinning every first Sunday of the month on @blooplondon from 14:00 to 15:00, and every second Sunday on @aajamusic from 14:00 to 16:00.

All in all, he's one of those DJs that feels exceptionally comfortable playing the dance floor, that surprises you with his musical selection and, even more importantly, that achieves the golden rule: Never stop dancing.
