The book "From Inmate To Mayor" is now being shot as a feature film!  Before becoming the Mayor of Marshville, North Carolina Frank Deese served 10 years for armed robbery.  Typically after being released; most inmates return to prison within 5 years because of income limitations, supporting children and lack of education. Frank Deese started a tax business when released, wrote his book and ran for Mayor winning 75% of the vote. Today he's giving back to the very community he committed his crimes in. Mayor Franklin Deese is on his 5th term as Mayor of Marshville and speaks to groups about reducing recidivism rates in the U.S. Presently, "From Inmate To Mayor" is being filmed and directed by Tommy Ford - who played the best friend of Martin Lawrence on the hit show - "Martin".   The younger Frank Deese is being played by Jermel Howard - from "Orange Is The New Black" on Netflix.

Surgical removal of the tumor is possible in only approximately 15 percent of patients with adenocarcinoma, the most common type of pancreatic cancer. Anyone interested in getting into the country music scene will head to Nashville, but not many know that Charlotte, NC was the first big recording towns back in the 1930's.  So, where did Jazz originate? You guessed it, right here in the backyards of Carolinian's. Not sure why major recording executives opened their doors in Nashville in the late 1940s, but other cities on the list of hot spots for music was   Atlanta and Dallas.  Dr. Tom Hanchett is at our fingertips and staff historian at the Levine Museum of the New South. He shared with Francene Marie how, when and why Charlotte became the hot spot for country music, jazz and gospel, etc.
