In Kansas prairies, Dorothy dwelt,
With Uncle Henry, and Aunt Em as well.
Their house was small, their lives quite plain,
In the midst of the great gray plain.

No garret high, no cellar deep,
Just a cyclone cellar for them to keep,

No laughter rang, no joy was found,
