Barbara and Basic Moves have been sending emails back and forth the last 7 years since she works at Scape Mastering alongside engineer Stefan Betke. She is a super skilled dj with a backpack full of experience and knowledge of club music and beyond. It felt logical to us to send another kind of email that wasn't an order form or payment confirmation. hahaha.

This mix puts both our feet back on the ground. Barbara fluently mixes minimal house and dub techno with a unique groove that feels so timeless and oh so clubbbbbyyy. Thanks a lot for teaching and showing us your way.

What’s in Barbara’s backpack? She started her career in Munich working for Disko-B in the mid nineties and soon became a resident at the green flokati room of the cult venue Ultraschall. In 1998 she left for Berlin to work as a freelance press and radio promoter. Around 1999 she co-found the label ˜scape, together with Stefan Betke aka Pole, creating an open platform for the productions of Kit Clayton, Jan Jelinek, Deadbeat, Pole amongst many others.

Autumn 2009 Barbara Preisinger founded the 12inch vinyl label SLICES OF LIFE which is focused on organic sounding and diverse club music, with releases by Betke, Mike Huckaby, Baaz, John Tejada and The Mole. The label´s founding year also marked the beginning of the event series DEEP IN THE BOX with regular parties at Berlin´s Club der Visionäre, Wilde Renate, Ipse among other places. In September 2015 Barbara Preisinger moved DEEP IN THE BOX to the Globus floor at Berlin´s legendary TRESOR club, where she has been hosting her parties every 2 months since then.

The Phonica mix series returns for 2025! Kicking off the year with a bang is one of our favorite and definitely one of the slickest underground producers of the minute Tiago Walter. Running Jisul Records (together with Nils Diezel and Ba Dum Tish's Alec Falconer) Walter has used the imprint to put out killer release after release with a unique and clean take on the tied lines between tech, soulful and deep house. This is a joint sound that you can find travelling not just throughout this hour and a half journey he has recorded for us, but at sets he has played all over Europe i.e. London's Pickle Factory or Offenbach's Robert Johnson club! So get your headphones on and prepare to bop your head to this masterclass in house music from the excellent Tiago Walter. Francesco Casaburi (born 23 Settembre 1968 in Tuscany - Buonconvento) better known by his stage name Francesco Farfa is an Italian Dj and record producer.

Francesco Farfa started his work in 1985, he has been known as a vinyl DJ in the electronic clubbing scene since the early 90s. He identifies his music as “a journey through contemporary underground dance”. His technique has evolved over the years moving from vinyl, trying a digital approach and merging both instruments into a very personal identity. 

Today he blends the advantages of the "cutting" methodologies of the beginnings alternating them with very long experimental fusions that create personal sound constructions. The way his mind works on the mix is able to transform sound into a vision. He’s able to make even funk sound like a trance. 

Francesco brings people mind in a “circular sound” as a hypnotic musical storyteller.

He's mission is beyond trends, he doesn’t ignore them but processes them. It's not always the record that makes the difference, but the way you make it sound.
