The Elephant Dance

Michael (Not his real name) inspired this simple lullaby. Hospitalized with terminal cancer, this courageous 12 year old young man allowed me to come visit him bedside at the hospital. We had 3 months.  Our "deal" was that I would bring in an original song for him to critique.  He knew I wrote for little kids, but he didn't mind playing "American Idol" with me and voting on the quality of the song.  Running out of original material, I wrote this right before our last visit.   He approved.

A Brand New Day

Francie Dillon is recognized nationally for her efforts in the performing arts as a children’s storyteller singer and educator.  In 2012, she was awarded Arts Educator of the Year by the Sacramento Arts and Business Council.  Her efforts in promoting the arts literacy and has reached over 128,000 elementary students regionally and thousand’s of children and families in city libraries, preschool settings and special events nation wide. 

Other recognition includes, Emmy Nominee, Best New Comers Award, ABC affiliate Chanel 10 Spirit of California Award, Blue Diamond Community Gem, Children’s Miracle Network Community Award, The Official Voice of Sacramento’s Fairytale Town, Adjunct Professor at CSUS and Keynote presenter at Regional and Statewide conferences.
