Established in June 2011, Francis & Boyd began as an acoustic folk duo playing stripped-back violin-laced originals, but soon realised what now defines their current sound: new members joined in early July, providing their now characteristic mandolins, banjos, ukuleles, drums, electric guitar and keys. Their latest EP, ‘I Was a Felled Destroyer’, released in February 2012, is the product of a long process aimed at synthesizing all these different instruments together and is encountering the favour of music bloggers, magazines and promoters.
