With this mixtape I wanted to get away from time restraints and fully express my current musical mood so it is a longer mix, full of all the deeper hypnotic aggressive blends I rarely have the time to deploy in radio shows or recent short sets and B2Bs.  It is mostly abrasive techno, sped up percussive tracks and US hard house from all eras. Just a beautiful tunnel of repetitive disorienting raw bang-your-head-on the wall, mental yet feral, electronic four-to-the-floor funk. It took me two weeks to get it perfectly right in one take after multiple failed attempts and technical problems, adjusting the fluidity, trimming and sculpting the tracklist to really reflect what I truly want to play these days without having to cater to anyone but myself. Listen, working on this mixtape gave me an actual tendonitis. This is real home-made triple CDJ artisanal work. Once it was done I facetimed the homie TEZ to ask him to make me an artwork and he delivered it on the spot, in an inversely proportional amount of time it took me to make the mix, which is just chef’s kiss. I hope this hour and 53 minutes of simultaneously intense and soothing music will bring you joy and make you dance.

Born in France and raised in Montreal, Canada, DJ Franck Kash fell in love with music at an early age, listening to everything from Hip Hop and R&B, to Indie Rock. Combine this with his parents Central African roots and the musical influences of his older siblings, and the result is what would later become DJ Franck Kash, a producer and master of ceremonies whose songs have an honest feeling to them.

Part of Franck’s appeal is that his production is as cinematic as it is down to earth. He creates sonic experiences that allow him to use music to interpret human emotion and cultivate connections. The result is a sound that is both theatrical and mellow. The music is meant to take listeners on a journey away from their reality while also teaching them something; it is true to Franck, as well as relatable. Franck believes firmly that it’s possible to change one’s life by changing one’s outlook, and he aims to make music that reflects this belief.

On his debut EP, Handshakes Away From Success, released in February of 2020, Franck uses the 8-track project to take an insightful look at success in its variation of forms and meaning. Furthermore, the full EP has been mixed and mastered by the Glaswegian music producer and DJ known as S-Type; he is a current member of the Scottish record label LuckyMe. The vinyl version of the EP is currently available for purchase at two known records stores in Montreal (in person and online), at LaRama Records and Atom Heart Music.

His second project, Internal Map Of Reality is a cinematic, introspective EP that explores how inner beliefs, memories, and emotional patterns shape our perception of the world.

Franck has also been featured on several notable music news outlets such as Montreality, Voir Magazine, iHeart Radio Canada, Nightlife.ca, HHQC.com and others as an artist to watch. Since 2020, Franck is also an international monthly resident DJ for the collective “Touch The Wood” based in Rome, Italy for their online radio show.

Franck Kash has performed at a number of venues/events in and around Canada, including: MURAL Festival, Newspeak, Bar Le Ritz, M For Montreal, Occupy The Hood, Bar Datcha, Club Soda and more. He has shared the stage with the likes of Mndsgn, Night Lovell, and a host of others. Franck has opened for: JAEL, Azizi Gibson, Myth Syzer, and YBN Nahmir, just to name a few.
