Frank Blackfire is a German guitarplayer, born in Essen, who started exploring and listening at the early age of 6 to his father´s „Rock´n Roll“ albums and therefore learned how to love this genre and become a Musician
At the age of 15 he started to love and learn how to play the guitar and . Immedeately gathered friends and neighbours, who shared the same passion with him and played an instrument and formed his first bands. 
When he turned 18, he made his first step into a cover band, which mostly played songs by the Judas Priest and Saxon, to name a few.

About 2 years later, he was offered the job to join German Thrash Metal band „Sodom“, who had their practice room in the same building. The beginning of an era and soon laid their path to „Music Lab Studios“ in Berlin to record their first album „Expurse of Sodomy“ in 1986, which was produced by Harris Johns. Their first live appearances followed and in 1987 their second album „Persecution mania“ brought them to their first European tour where the live album ´´Mortal way of live``was recorded.

In 1989 with „Agent Orange“ the band secured a place in the German charts, the first time a German Thrash band made it into the ranks.  The album was also produced by Harris Johns at „Music Lab Studios“ in Berlin.

At this time Frank felt a bit uncomfortable being in the band and decided to part ways with Sodom and create his own band. But since he had good contact to Kreator´s frontman Mille Petrozza, who had recently also lost their guitarplayer, Frank was on board rehearsing and setting things up for the upcoming North American tour in the summer of 1989.

After the tour the band was tight and started writing new songs for another Kreator longplayer. „Come of Souls“ was recorded in Los Angeles in the summer of 1990, followed by a massive tour across Europe, North and South America and Israel. A series of festivals were also played, such as the Roskilde in Denmark, before the band once more gathered to the „Morrissound“ Studio in Florida to record and release the album „Renewal“ And again the band toured the world and also expanded towards Japan and Australia. In 1995 „Cause for Conflict“ was released and another extensive tour of shows and festivals followed.

Despite their success at the end of 1996 Frank and Kreator parted ways and he continued playing in various projects outside the metal genre to extend his guitar playing abilities and also teach. In October 2000 Frank moved to Brasil, where he lived until 2006. In Brasil he  played with many bands, released the 5 Track EP „Mystic“ and worked on new songs.

In 2007 he was first seen again with Sodom at W.O.A. Wacken Open Air and with a new band on other gigs and the „Chris Witch Hunter Memorial Festival“ in 2008.

In 2013 he finally found the time to start recording all the songs he had worked on in the past few years. In 2014 Frank was invited to Malaysia and Singapore to excite his asian die hard fans. Upon his return he rushed back to the Studio and finished his long awaited album „Back on Fire“, which was released on November 20, 2015.

With a brand new line up, the powerful trio will launch a tour in 2016. Featuring John ABC Smith on Bass and vocals (God´s Army A.D., ex Scanner, Gallow´s Pole and At Vance) and power house verteran drummer Mark Cross (Tainted Nation, ex Firewind, Helloween, Outlouda.o. Scorpions ....) an unbeatable trio has been formed.
