Having enjoyed the honour of launching the label last summer with the highly acclaimed ‘Firethorn’ and ‘Pandorum’, Frankee’s doubled his dynamite with no less than four dancefloor-focussed slices of absolute bass gold.
Showcasing his creative range with depth and clarity, every element on this EP is coated in a robust sense of timeless drum & bass magic and melody: Nodding at the scene’s rich past, while pushing us as far into the future as possible, each cut will quickly find its way to the very top of your playlist.
We launch with ‘Harlequin’, a purring roller that’s devilishly simple but demonically effective. A groaning bassline and tubular subs vie for your attention as the steppy riddim drills the message home with such razor-sharp punctuation, each additional percussive element that’s added as the track develops causes major chaos.
Next-up ‘Paranormal’. An instant hair-raiser, the quintessential pitched down pianos conjure up 25 years of rave heritage in one simple reverberated strike. Then, before nostalgia kicks in too much, in fires a scorching bassline that grizzles and kicks its way through the mix with uncompromising menace. If you thought the low-end growls of Frankee’s previous release were stuff of legend, just wait until you hear this bass behemoth!
‘Saffron’ follows. Oozing low-end luxury and a swift, skippy riddim, it’s an instant groove massage laced with floating vocal textures and emotive, ethereal pads. An instant hypnotiser, it instantly flies your floor to places they didn’t even know existed. Paying respect to the expensive, aromatic delicacies of its namesake, ‘Saffron’ more than lives up to its name.
Finally we hit ‘Flintstone’. Concluding this epic tale with a wry grin, it’s the perfect balance of deep, dark rollage and subtle humour. The overwhelmingly warm sub squiggles, icy pads and textured percussive dynamics make this track a must for all record boxes!
Seldom does an EP come with such a fitting title…Not just a bold statement of dancefloor intent, each of these four cuts mark a quintessential turning point in Frankee’s promising career. From young hopeful to bona fide hot prospect, Frankee has firmed up a front row seat in D&B’s future.

It’s been quite a year for our budding 22 year old Christian Hoffmann, AKA Toronto Is Broken. A debut LP Section Nine dropping at the start of the year and releases on Viper & Technique Recordings throughout the summer, you’d think that would be enough? Well it’s not, TiB’s not quite finished the year off just yet. Ladies & Gentlemen, introducing the first in a series on club focus singles from TiB: Way Down & Original.

Onto the music… Way Down, it’s certainly not something you’d expect to hear from TiB and it’s certainly a positive move into the dance floor banger arena. Hooky bleeps, marching beats and teeth shattering subs. This one’s got more funk than James Brown and more swagger than Jagger. Watch out for that second drop!

Original see’s TiB don his junglist cap for the vocal flex but the track is just outright Drum & Bass filth. The bassline on Original is all consuming and ready to destroy anything in it’s path.

LOCKJAW injects a layer of tension with a 2-pronged psychological assault on the auditory senses with the latest single from his LOCKED CONCEPT imprint. The 2 tracker continues the momentum of the growing label, that's seen a truly diverse array of sonic output so far in 2017, delivering music with a commitment to delivering unique ideas. 

A MOMENT OF CLARITY leads with purity in the smoothness of its Miami-esque, reverb-drenched guitars and live-feeling percussive palette, before locking onto a gnarly bass-driven neon stepper. It's the second drop where things really pick up though, with flurries of acid-tinged bass stabs leaning on future vibes. PANIC ATTACK treads a more paranoid path, with many components coated in fuzz-fuelled decay as the track pushes ever more heavily into dark and evolved territories.

One year on from his seminal debut, the undead returns for his sophomore extended player.

And what a year it’s been for 23-year-old Joshua Mellody. Having only made his first piece of electronic music six months prior to signing to Never Say Die, Zomboy has well and truly been thrown in at the deep end, and straight onto festival stages worldwide. Remixes for DJ Fresh, Skrillex, Flux Pavilion and Hadouken! have kept the hoards of fans (90,000 and counting) at bay, but the time has come for the follow up E.P of the year.

The Dead Symphonic is a snapshot of a producer who is developing his palette at an alarming rate. No tempo is left uncovered as the EP twists and turns through hands-in-the-air drumstep, daft punk’esque electro, orchestral interludes and of course, the sonically perfected dubstep for which he has become so well known for.

Zomboy - Hoedown

Having already released on Ram Records under his Fascad alias, through their Ram Rave series, their last annual compilation and through the sister-label Program as part of its seminal 100th release, he returns alongside Ignescent label owner Deen Pride but under a different pseudonym. ‘Focusfire’ was one of Fascad’s tracks which saw the producer gain international recognition and it's also the duo’s new artist title, which their brand new EP forthcoming on Program will fall under, whilst they maintain the dancefloor infected talent which caught the imprint’s attention.

The frenzied drum work throughout ‘New Order’ sets the levels for the EP whilst growling patches of bass maintains the momentum for ‘Cracked Up'. Sculpted grooves punctuate the mix of ‘Nonverbal’, meanwhile ‘Catacombs’ and ‘W.I.S.Y’ continue with the EP’s hectic intensity. With Focusfire now taking the wheel, it’s once again time to get with the Program - this time concentrating on its nastier sounds.
