Having enjoyed the honour of launching the label last summer with the highly acclaimed ‘Firethorn’ and ‘Pandorum’, Frankee’s doubled his dynamite with no less than four dancefloor-focussed slices of absolute bass gold.
Showcasing his creative range with depth and clarity, every element on this EP is coated in a robust sense of timeless drum & bass magic and melody: Nodding at the scene’s rich past, while pushing us as far into the future as possible, each cut will quickly find its way to the very top of your playlist.
We launch with ‘Harlequin’, a purring roller that’s devilishly simple but demonically effective. A groaning bassline and tubular subs vie for your attention as the steppy riddim drills the message home with such razor-sharp punctuation, each additional percussive element that’s added as the track develops causes major chaos.
Next-up ‘Paranormal’. An instant hair-raiser, the quintessential pitched down pianos conjure up 25 years of rave heritage in one simple reverberated strike. Then, before nostalgia kicks in too much, in fires a scorching bassline that grizzles and kicks its way through the mix with uncompromising menace. If you thought the low-end growls of Frankee’s previous release were stuff of legend, just wait until you hear this bass behemoth!
‘Saffron’ follows. Oozing low-end luxury and a swift, skippy riddim, it’s an instant groove massage laced with floating vocal textures and emotive, ethereal pads. An instant hypnotiser, it instantly flies your floor to places they didn’t even know existed. Paying respect to the expensive, aromatic delicacies of its namesake, ‘Saffron’ more than lives up to its name.
Finally we hit ‘Flintstone’. Concluding this epic tale with a wry grin, it’s the perfect balance of deep, dark rollage and subtle humour. The overwhelmingly warm sub squiggles, icy pads and textured percussive dynamics make this track a must for all record boxes!
Seldom does an EP come with such a fitting title…Not just a bold statement of dancefloor intent, each of these four cuts mark a quintessential turning point in Frankee’s promising career. From young hopeful to bona fide hot prospect, Frankee has firmed up a front row seat in D&B’s future.

Debut Release - Frankee - Firethorn / Pandorum

What better way to launch a fresh faced label than with a fresh faced artist? Frankee’s first collaborative release came last year, a track produced alongside Basher and released on Ram Records. ‘Nevada’ was a standout on Basher’s ‘Transmission’ album, and now Frankee is ready to unleash his exciting solo debut.

‘Firethorn’ leads the way with a haunting intro that gradually builds and grows, demanding your attention as it progresses. As the twinkling melodies and echoed percussive elements fade away the tension is broken with a huge bassline and rolling breakbeats that pummel you from head to toe. This is undoubtedly a debut worthy of the very best, a debut that will have heads turning and bodies dancing whenever it’s dropped.

Flip over and ‘Pandorum’ takes you to an altogether deeper and darker place. A staple of label boss Andy C’s DJ sets for some time now, this track is packed with visceral energy that threatens to rip you apart with its incredible bass. With a nod to the sci-fi era of D&B, this track is as much about rinsing the dance floor as it is about creating an atmosphere.

Carving their very own groove in the musical world; Octane & DLR (otherwise known as Chris & Jay) have been amazing us with great music since 2010 having released on Renegade Hardware, Run DNB, Audio Tactics and of course initially and most regularly on Dispatch Recordings.



This extremely talented due have been beavering away in the studio for the last 12 months (and then some!) compiling an album which is now complete and ready to be unleashed.



Four select tracks in total from the album have been sent to DJ Friction and he's aired all of them on his BBC Radio 1 show to date; the lead track from the album sampler release "Murmur" (co-written alongside Break) has now been aired 5 times across 5 different shows (thats a fairly good endorsement right there).



The full 17 track collection will be released on CD featuring collab work alongside select artists such Break, Cern and EBK as well as guest vocalists and MC's Fokus, Kemo, Gusto and Marion.



Only selected tracks from the 17 are being pressed to vinyl. The CD format features exclusively hand-drawn artwork from Nate (at Southpaw designs) adorned across its packaging and the CD itself within does contain 3 tracks and interludes that are completely exclusive to the format with the first 50 buyers receiving an exlusive and very limited signed poster (additional posters exclusively at our Surus store only)..

After signing exclusively to Viper in 2016, nothing but success has followed Dossa & Locuzzed. The duo from Austria have seen support from some of the biggest names in drum & bass with singles like ‘Hollow’, ‘Stoned Love’, and ‘Electric Boogie’ being picked up by Sub Focus, Culture Shock, DJ Marky, and MistaJam among others. Following the release of their highly sought-after remix of Camo & Krooked’s ‘Honesty’, their VIP edit of the iconic ‘Shag’, and recent singles ‘Fuse/Shake’, the duo are once again setting their sights on success with their latest label release.

Following Viper’s newest mystery signee Giganti, Futurebound has just signed another talented newcomer to the label, this time going by the name of Millbrook. 
Millbrook is no stranger to releasing killer music; a look into his past will provide insight how he cut his teeth writing and releasing drum and bass under previous alias Vacuum. With an impressive amount of support and airtime from the likes of Bassnectar, Noisia, DJ Hype, Camo & Krooked and Glitch Mob already under his belt, Michel Losch, aka Millbrook, is now ready to elevate his sound to the next level in a new partnership with Viper.

Making a remarkable introduction for himself, ‘The Rise’ is the first taste of the Luxembourg based producer’s rebrand. Written with the talented Vorso and featuring industry favourite Mad Hed City on vocals, ‘The Rise’ is a raw, gritty, pounding masterpiece with a drop that is guaranteed to leave jaws on the floor. A charming intro melody quickly evolves into something much more sinister, emotion, followed by pure adrenaline, pumping from Mad Hed City’s iconic voice before breaking down into something minimal, funky, and all around technically brilliant. 
The flip side of the single gives us a glimpse at Millbrook’s much more elegant side – a cinematic opening teases at his sound design ability while introducing a variety of power-packed chords for an instantly memorable tune. Delivering a different kind of funk with the drop, Millbrook has certainly proven he is a force to be reckoned with with this release.

Having had an incredible year already with singles from D-Bridge, Commix, Jubei & Flowdan, Lenzman and label boss Goldie, Metalheadz go all out with yet another impressive instalment of their ‘Genesis’ EP series. Dropping four heavy tracks, this one will definitely be at the forefront of the D&B elite’s playlists this winter.

First up Mortem delivers ‘Iceberg’ a hauntingly chilly piece of music with echoed vocal snippets, crisp two-stepping breaks, cavernous sound effects and a shifting slab of bass. All the elements combine effortlessly in Mortem’s hands as he crafts each moment with expert precision.

FD kicks down your front door and runs away with your prized possessions as he drops ‘Break & Enter’ – a chunky bass-weight track that sounds immense when played loud. This one will undoubtedly shake the bass bins of any club you care to drop it in.
