A remix I did for Indaba Music's contest. I had to use the vocal track and at least one sound file from their set. The sound files were sports sounds - a skateboard, a basketball dribble, a motorcycle and a jet. I used the dribble for the kick drum sound and I used the skateboard on the prechoruses. I did the whole track in Ableton and used NI's Massive for the synths, pads and basses.

I'm thinking this has a quiet Massive Attack vibe here. Toying with some randomly generated drums under a swinging cymbal to see if anythig good comes out of the chaos.  I usually let these loops generate for several minutes and then zero in specific sections I like and use those to later create new songs.

My music continually gets described as dark, erie, Halloweenish. I'm a horror junkie and I've always been fascinated by the evil imagery in horror soundtracks and perhaps it's trickled its way into my style. Music is a great tool to control the emotions. It can make you happy, sad, relieved, or frightened. I prefer to tease the listener with fear, either through an edgy texture, haunting melodies, or oppressive bass lines. I expose my dark side through my music so I don't have to take it out on others...
