So Perry K and I went to see the new Spider-Man movie "No Way Home"  and I have some Spider-Man history since the first record I ever owned was "Beyond The Grave" by Spider-Man when I was 6 years old.  Not to give away the plot, Dr. Strange has to reverse the spell and in turn Spider-Man's girlfriend forget's who he is.  And I'm like "Doc Strange in the Range like Whoa". May not be something anyone expected but I made this for my NDC RADIO mix which airs as Saturday Night Sessions every Saturday Night.  And it's Easter weekend.

The Pilots Glory is a weird phenomena I only witnessed once back in 2013 on a flight to Chicago.  It was around the time when I first figured out the multiverse.  Way before the Spider-Man movies.  But I only really understood this multiverse through genres of music.  And even still with that, it took a book called "Join The Future" (Bleep Techno & British Bass Music)written in 2019 but goes back to 1990 to understand the depth.

It was in this book that I was described as a "Rave Evangelist" a term I have never heard before.  There is some profound depth here, like public speaking or preaching to convert folks to a faith.  Not religion though, but rave.  We didn't use words like "Influencer" or "Urban Exploration" but before there was social networking it came down to a phone number on a record I produced.

I suppose being 20 years into the future wasn't a bad thing, that is until everyone else caught up to me putting us in 2010.  I'm almost invisible today.  And that is OK, because I'm the only person who has the antidote.  Music.  Like this, another notch in the ladder so to speak.

Over the last six years, https://soundcloud.com/homepark have slowly but surely built up a classy discography that takes in smooth and seductive deep house that has real drive. It has come on labels like Ornate Music and Chez Damier’s Courtesy Of Balance Recordings, and always marries a classic sense of house history with fresh new perspectives for both head and heel. 

This latest EP kicks off with ‘RFMS,’ an immediately atmospheric track with shakers, rubbery drums and smeared synths all making for a fulsome groove. Some choice vocals help elevate things to a higher level and the whole thing exudes real warmth as it effortlessly glides along.

Marvin & Valentino are the guys behind the cool label and recordshop Public Possession. Funded in Munich in 2012, the shop has been praised since its early days for their lively instore sessions hosting the cream of the djs visiting the town. As a label, many memorable original records or playful edits by the likes of Bell Towers, Anton Klint, Lipelis, Wolfram, Samo DJ, Andras, Hysteric or Tambien. We've been waiting quite a while for the mix so glad to finally host them on LYO !

THE BELLS / PURPOSE MAKER / JEFF MILLS / AXIS - Jeff Mills flagship track from Kat Moda was one of the finest techno releases of the 1990's.  It's pretty much Holy Grail.  So first things first, I've been spending most of my free time making music.  Sometimes I get lucky.  In fact if this version didn't excell while I was creating it, I would have simply walked away and left it alone.  But it began to sound really good & punchy.  I started feeling like Jeff would really enjoy it.  

I mean "Let No Man Put Asunder" is one of the most sampled vocals of all time.  But the placement of the words in this one, I heard it in an old 2011 track by Butch, and knew it would accent The Bells well.  It's really subjective but I will leave it up to you.   Enjoy.

JEFF MILLS - THE BELLS - THE 2021 FRANKIE BONES REDUX

"Call It Techno" was the blueprint track which was written on June 4, 1989.  It was at the forefront of European Rave Culture and became a well known track in the U.K. & Germany.  The documentary "We Call It Techno" explains it right from the beginning and from that came the second & third Love Parade themes being named "The Future Is Ours" off the XL/Citibeat LP by Musto & Bones.  And "My House Is Your House" from the Break Boys which was Frankie Bones aka on Fourth Floor Records in 1990.

Frankie became the American Pioneer of Rave Culture on both coasts in 1990, playing Techno as a movement.  The Peace, Love, Unity Movement which in 1993 became PLUR after a fight broke out at an event in The Bronx which had Richie Hawtin as it's headliner.

And the rest is history.  If words can paint the picture here, the first 5 Soundcloud links will describe a DJ who has a journey of a lifetime & still is active in 2024.  The music that comes from the heart & soul of the Brooklyn Underground.
