I heal myself weekly with the music I play. I listen deeply to the words buried within; the intention behind the lyrics either peppered-in or chorused. So much of the house music I connect with is rooted in love. It’s rooted in desire and hope. It’s rooted in narrative, “Do you want to trip with me?”, “I’ll outstretch my hand”, “I won’t forget about you, you won’t forget about me, we won’t forget about love vibrations!”. I listen to the messages to remind myself what I need and why I continue to move forward.

Vol.2 is represented in two mixing styles; long-melded blends (Trippin’ On Love) and fast, tight radio-style cut mixes with overdubs (Slammin’ With Love). Both convey the deep need for connection to one’s body and to others. It’s this connection energy that I find so powerful about house music’s healing magic.

It's the TC... Channeling the energy of everyone's favourite Essex hun, Tia Cousins is who she is, and she ain't gonna apologise for it.

The London-based DJ mines for music on the outer fringes, whether its new wave oddities, off-kilter breakbeats or hypnotic techno. That said she's not just got a knack for chugging it out in a dark club, she can raise a smile too with her synth-pop, folk and post-punk finds; an eclecticism that's earned her a number of radio residencies over the years on NTS, Balamii and more recently on Noods Radio.

This no-nonsense attitude and bottomless music knowledge has caught the ears of events and festivals like Fabric, Field Manuevers and Love International, as well as the attention of Overmono who invited her to play as the support on their UK and Ireland tour.

"I’ve been consistently inspired by all the Discwoman DJs as well as really any powerhouse queers within the music industry. I spend more of my time curating events rather than DJing so I find a lot of my time is put into actually booking DJs I am enthused by, but this time I get to filter that into a mix. I’ve enjoyed the sonically diverse mixes you’ve been posting on the site so when making the mix I felt comfortable with whatever tracks/flow I was feeling in the moment. This mix has quite a few new tracks by Montreal (Tio'tia:ke) producers like Ouri, Gene Tellem and Marie Davidson, I wanted to keep sections of it local as a reminder of who I’m inspired by offline at the parties I physically go to.
