The biblical story of the patriarch Jacob is found in the Book of Genesis. As Jacob is on his way to find a wife, he happens to meet Rachel, who is tending her father's sheep, and falls in love with the beautiful woman. In order to marry Rachel, Jacob serves seven years with her father Laban of Haran. At the end of his service, Laban does not give him Rachel, as agreed, but her older sister Leah on their wedding night. After the bridal week with Leah, Jacob is given Rachel as his wife, but in return he must serve Laban for another seven years. While Leah gives birth to several sons, Rachel remains barren, which is considered bad luck in the world of the Bible. According to contemporary custom, Rachel gives Jacob her maid Bilhah (also Bilhah) to bear children for Jacob in her place. This is figuratively represented by Bilhah giving birth on Rachel's knees, thus designating her as the actual mother. Leah's maid Zilpah also gives birth to sons for Jacob. All four women are considered the progenitors of the tribes of Israel. After many years, Rachel does become pregnant and bears Jacob sons Joseph and Benjamin, who become Jacob's favorite children because of their mother's position. During the birth of Benjamin, Rachel dies.

The name Rachel (Hebrew רָחֵל) means "ewe." Related to this are Akkadian personal names such as cow, calf, sheep, or gazelle. Noth assumes that the children of Rachel should be marked by their name as sheep breeders.

Als Jakob auf dem Weg ist, sich eine Ehefrau zu suchen, begegnet er zufällig Rachel, die die Schafe ihres Vaters hütet, und verliebt sich in die schöne Frau. Um Rachel heiraten zu können, dient Jakob sieben Jahre bei ihrem Vater Laban von Haran. Da ihm dieser am Ende des Dienstes nicht, wie vereinbart, Rachel, sondern deren ältere Schwester Lea in der Hochzeitsnacht zuführt, erhält er nach der Brautwoche mit Lea auch Rachel zur Frau, muss sich dafür aber weitere sieben Jahre bei Laban verdingen. Während Lea mehrere Söhne gebiert, bleibt Rachel unfruchtbar, was in der Welt der Bibel als Unglück gilt. Gemäß zeitgenössischer Sitte gibt Rachel Jakob ihre Magd Bilha (auch Bilhah), um an ihrer Stelle Kinder für Jakob zu gebären. Dies wird bildlich dargestellt, indem Bilha auf den Knien Rachels gebiert und diese so als die eigentliche Mutter bezeichnet wird. Auch Leas Magd Silpa gebiert Jakob Söhne. Alle vier Frauen gelten als Stammmütter der Stämme Israels. Nach vielen Jahren wird Rachel doch noch schwanger und gebiert Jakob die Söhne Josef und Benjamin, die wegen der Stellung ihrer Mutter Jakobs Lieblingskinder werden. Bei der Geburt Benjamins stirbt Rachel.

Der Name Rachel (hebräisch רָחֵל) bedeutet „Mutterschaf“. Damit in Beziehung stehen akkadische Personennamen wie Kuh, Kälbchen, Schaf oder Gazelle. Noth vermutet, dass die Kinder Rachels durch ihren Namen als Schafzüchter gekennzeichnet werden sollen.

Here's the first Anomon & Elliot recording in a New Series of musical conversations in 'The Livingroom', in February 2023. And today (Feb. 21st it's #2 on the SC New & Hot Ambient Chart in North America. 

The tones and textures Tim created on his guitar as we began improvising reminded me of the Erhu.. the two stringed Chinese instrument played with a bow. It felt like we were actually looking out over the amazing horizon in the photo above, filled with wonder. Shortly after, we found our way into the musical equivalent of Para-Gliding over the clouds in very cool n joyous groove that continues to pulse through until the finish.

A long, long time ago, there was an organ in the Christmas-decorated living room in his parents' house, where Frank grew up. Originally bought by his father for his two older siblings, they showed no interest in playing the organ. Frank, however, did. White and black keys and giving off strange sounds. 

So at the age of 9 he began to let his fingers circle on this instrument, searching for the right keys like on a typewriter. And another 9 years would pass before he could buy his first own instrument. Already at the age of 13 he made notes about the then current synthesizers, bought one magazine after the other and visited music fairs in Frankfurt, Germany.

His first keyboard was the Yamaha DSR-2000, which he bought in a music store near his hometown Biebertal. In installments! Finally he could develop himself further - away from the limited tonality of the small organ. The built-in 8-track sequencer helped him to reach unimagined heights. 
Little by little his equipment expanded and his ambition to create music like that of Jean-Michel Jarres came closer. Influenced by this and countless other musicians of the time, his interest grew, but he taught himself everything. Not even having attended a music school or being able to read music at all, he wrote one song after another and recorded them on the only medium available to him at the time: audio cassettes.
Many of these recordings are unfortunately lost forever, because cassettes are and were not the best recording medium. He has to try to play many of his songs from memory. 

In 2007, he fulfilled a long-awaited wish: to buy a KORG. He had always wanted to own one, but with the latest synthesizers at the time of their release having a purchase price of over 6000 D-marks (the currency of the time in the 1980s and 1990s), that dream of owning one was far away. So in 2007 he bought a used KORG 01W/FD at ebay. And as before with the purchase of the Yamaha keyboard, a completely new world opened up to him.

In addition, there were expanders and sound modules from Kawai, Roland and Yamaha (K1m, SC-55, QY10). Six years later his enthusiasm for making music ebbed and rediscovered his hobby (which it always was and still is). In 2018 in April he decided to present his music to a wider audience and uploaded his first song on the platform soundcloud. Since that time, thanks also to the ever-evolving software, he continues to evolve, experiment and relive his times through music.
