Demonstrating the same addictive, dancefloor-ready grooves seen on their previous collabs like ‘Get Toast’ and ‘Blood Orange’, this latest joint venture once again delivers the heat. With its deep organ bassline, playful keys and irresistible 4/4 swing, this record oozes club appeal in a way you can only expect from producers rooted firmly in the scene. Italian duo Len Vitz and Charlie Iapicone debut on Hot Creations with ‘Playhouse’, backed by a remix from  Cologne favourite Kolter.  

Featuring as two young talents rising from the Italian house scene, Len Vitz and Charlie Iapicone are gearing up  for their biggest release to date following a series of EPs across recent years. Joining forces for the first time to  rework Ann Peebles’ 1972 soul hit ‘I’m Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down’, they debut on Hot Creations with their  collaboration ‘Playhouse’ - backed by a stellar remix from Cologne-based DJ/producer and label boss, Kolter. 

“The EP was born by chance, an experiment which turned out successful. It’s a mixture of sounds and  recordings accompanied by a taste of vintage soul music.” - Len Vitz.  

Harnessing the original production’s resonant vocals and funk-fuelled riffs, ‘Playhouse’ brings a 70’s classic to  modern dancefloors as slick drums and slinking bass grooves reveal a track made for memorable moments. On  the flip, Kolter’s remix brings an additional slice of vigour and energy as he utilises signature chords and skippy  percussion to shape up proceedings.

After his first single from the album, ‘Same Man’, reached #1 in the Beatport Tech House chart, it was clear that Franky’s productions are reaching the next level and these three tracks are further proof.

First off, ‘Work It To The Bone’ gives hints of New York garage with a contemporary edge, the strutting drum breakdown and vocal sample giving way to a surging, bumping bassline. Continuing with the bumping basslines, the next track is Franky’s own version of the killer track ‘Lights Down’ from The New Sins, a track released on Defected in 2015 and given new life in this slick remix. Finally it’s ‘Crazy Day’, an irresistibly pacey house record, peppered with surprising grooves, featuring the gorgeous RnB-style vocals of Mike City.
