Into the Mekaverse 

Stellar Year 3210
Location: OG/Mirage Border

It was a typical day for pilot OG-1062. Laying in the barracks messing around with his holo deck imaging off his animatronic wrist. The Meka wars had been raging for decades and the war had reached a stagnant doldrum leaving many pilots with plentiful time to burn. Most pilots liked to burn time messing around in the weight room or other ancient sporting facilities that remained on the base from pre war times but OG-1062 had always had an ear for music. The need for creative expression through arts in the past was replaced entirely with propaganda where new music or videos released played off as disingenuous war ads. 

Losing his mind with boredom and with no way to listen to prewar music he loved OG-1062 developed a soundboard application by hacking his holo deck. With this he began to demo making his own music to try to recreate the soothing sounds he yearned for to help raise his and potentially his fellow platoon mates morale in coming battles.

Suddenly as OG-1062 was finally hitting a groove in his latest song the alarms of the entire base sounded battle alarms. ‘ALL PILOTS REPORT TO MEKA BAYS’. It had been a few months since the alarms had sounded, but the fear instilled from prior battles made the alarm sound like a door bell alarm in hell. OG-1062 scrambled putting on his operating gear and sprinted to bay 1062. He quickly was briefed on the situation of a platoon of mirage mekas haven been scouted moving at high velocity toward a nearby Meka materials quarry of high importance to the OG empire. Their mission to protect the quarry and eliminate all hostile stuff on sight.
OG-1062 began his usual rundown through his preflight checklist but felt unnerved at this first battle in months. The lull in combat had lured him into a glimmer of false hope the war had reached its end. To help calm himself OG-1062 pulled up his holodeck and began scrolling through songs he had created and found the one that always got him into his battle focused state of mind. He clicked play on ‘Into the Mekaverse’ it was time to fight, it was time to survive.
