32 fresh interpretations of Civil War songs from a collection of artists who span genres and generations.

ATO Records and music supervisor Randall Poster ('Moonrise Kingdom,' 'Boardwalk Empire,' 'Rave on Buddy Holly') have joined forces to release 'Divided & United,' a two-disc set of Civil War songs brought to life through fresh interpretations by the pioneers, Hall of Famers and rising young stars of country, bluegrass, folk and beyond. The collection celebrates music deeply vital to the history and spirit of America in tribute to the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. Each song offers a unique window on the past, with themes exploring race, identity and reconciliation in a manner that echoes profoundly today.

The tremendous talents on 'Divided & United' span several generations and genres. Combined they have won close to 200 GRAMMY Awards, numerous Country Music Awards and include Rock And Roll Hall of Famers, Country Music Hall of Famers and Bluegrass Hall of Famers.

Estudos sem pretensão para um cover de "Can't find my way home", do Blind Faith, gravado em casa, com o celular. Em 2019 tive a sorte de cantar essa música acompanhando o "RizzaTrio", banda liderada por Marcelo Rizzatti, e fiquei muito impactada pela letra da canção. Ainda não sei dominá-la e talvez nunca saberei. Mesmo assim, sigo estudando.

Can't find my way home - Blind Faith (estudos para um cover)

This is the 2nd composition in my ongoing collaboration with artist and photographer Helena Whitten.

Helena uses the technique of slow-shutter exposure to capture the beauty and fragility of life in unexpected places. In her own words, "When the shutter on a camera is left open, there is the opportunity to capture a substantial segment of time. The action is then trapped in a two-dimensional image and can be viewed in its entirety, in an instant. The shutter rises like the curtain on a stage. A drama is played out and then the curtain falls. In that time, I see an opportunity to tell a story."

"The events and figures are almost living and breathing, they want to persist in the present and into the future. But the paradox of slow-shutter work is that these figures, with their disappearing arms, legs and heads, inescapably become ethereal and ghostlike, barely there and slipping away.

This photograph was taken at Poltimore House and is titled, "Forgotten".

Most of this piece was recorded in 2016 but I abandoned it until I decided to clean my computer files up recently. I added the vocals and a few horn samples to "finish" it off.

I am not a musician but music plays a very important role in my creative life! I am an artist/designer and music is my companion and my muse in the long hours I spend working in my studio! 
I am immensely impressed and grateful for all the talented and inspiring musicians whose work graces this Cloud, and I will always re-post sounds that I love (and will listen to again) - knowing that others will enjoy them!
