Negative Distortion is a solo project by J.R. Williams started in December of 2009. Drawing from influences like Nine Inch Nails, Slipknot and Nirvana, Negative Distortion's music straddles many different genres often in a single song.J.R. is currently the rythm guitarist for the local underground band decay of value.(www.reverbnation.com/decayofvalue) With them he has shared the stage with both local and national acts alike. Some mentionable ones are Years of Fire (formed by members of Chimira and ring worm) Disown a semi national act from Cleveland OH, and Mushroom Head. In early 2012 negative distortion landed a pop score of 68 on Jango.com and hit top 40 on ourstage.com with the instrumental song "into it". Also in 2012 J.R. was selected by film maker Matt Brooks to score Ghatt Productions' "Serial Nightmares" an indie horror film composed of three short features. Currently J.R. is joining with other musicians to form a full band and gearing up to record negative distortion's first EP for Abydos Records.

decay of value was formed in 2001 by Nathan Harshman and Michael Wheeler. Armed with their influences and a desire to create something from nothing, the two long time friends began recording and assembling their noise. The band has self-released two albums to date, the first being the self titled "decay of value" in 2003. The second album, "ramblings of incoherent minds" was released in 2004. With the addition of J.R. Williams to the lineup, decay of value hit the live circuit playing shows at various venues all over Ohio. The band has shared the stage with many friends and fellow musicians in other bands ranging from local to national levels. Presently decay of value is working on recording new material and intends to use it for future live audio assaults.

JOHN 3:16 is a unique experiment relying on the broad culture of its solo composer. Heavy and aerial, the music is leading here. No rules to follow as no genre wide enough to encompass all the elements in JOHN 3:16. In between soundtrack, ambient electronic and drone, each track is a piece of space somewhere, far away from here.

a death cinematic is one man making noise drone melodies with guitar, amp, and some effects. all the sounds come from these four elements which are mixed with intuition and improvisation before they are recorded and then cleaned up minimally on a computer. once these sounds are recorded and arranged they cannot be recreated. each composition is made up of multiple layers which are shifted and changed between tracks. this makes it impossible to reproduce them. the approach is not unlike one might use to make a painting or a sculpture. not all mistakes are eliminated, some are embraced and built upon as others might only slightly be covered or changed in order to produce a whole new effect.
