Vancouver underground - DJ lace

A classic acid breaks tracks made with a Roland TR-808 running through an Ashley sc-50 compressor, A TT-303 & a Xoxbox. 

The bell samples are glasses of water filled at different levels. The tambourine sample is a toy drum tambourine with the skin taped to mute it & pitched down. All Instrument and vocal samples were recorded with a Groove tubes MD1 tube microphone, via a Focusrite ISA1.

Mixed at Canmarc on a dm4800 & Yamaha hs-80 monitors

FIGHT LIKE HELL Feat. RABBIT JUNK

4 Years ago today we lost my good friend and mentor Phil Western. Phil inspired and taught me a great deal and remains one of my favourite musicians of all time. Phil made a lot of different kinds of music and for this one I kinda drew inspiration from his long runner old school techno  "get lost in the drift" type thing, notable inspire by his tune "The Sign" which is one of my all time favourites. Phil started doing yearly tributes to his lost friend Dwayne Goettel whom I never got to meet but he continued them for more than 20 years as I knew it meant a lot to him and I hope to do the same for his memory. Please do yourself and Phils daughter a favour by going to his bandcamp, clicking on any release and select "Buy Digital Discography" for 30$ Its a truly staggering amount of work for that price and remains some of my most treasured music of all time. I miss you buddy I think you would have got a kick out of this. This tune is all done with hardware analog synths as he would have appreciated. Turn this one up for Phil and get lost in it. He was the loudest monitor abuser I've ever encountered haha. Hope you like it buddy we love you... Also sorry if your names Bethany but that sample is too funny.
