These lyrics taken out of Pink Floyd’s powerful classic from "The Wall" Movie, “What Shall We Do Now?”, is the main reason why Grégoire Fray, brain of Belgian post-industrial/rock gang THOT, brought the whole collective into making this song their own, with a dark and passionate reinterpretation. Fray explains: “February 2020, I was back from a solo tour across the EU and was thinking of doing the same across Asia by the end of the year. A month later, we were all asked to stay home because of Covid19. Then I remembered this song that I heard for the first time when I was in high school, in the 1990’s. Yet, I was fascinated by the dramatic relevance of Roger Waters' lyrics. Look where we are now. Do we always have to do something?”

“What Shall We Do Now?” is set to be released October 18th, clearly announcing THOT's return, driven by several new fierce & original songs to be unleashed in the following months, including collaborations with singers of polyphonic ensemble “The Mystery of The Bulgarian Voices”

Following their 2017’s release "FLEUVE" & their recent cover of Pink Floyd’s “What Shall We Do Now?”, Belgian post-rock/industrial collective THOT returns with this 3 track EP written by the gang’s brain Grégoire Fray before the world froze in March 2020. These songs carry Fray’s obsession for electronic bass lines & heavy guitars, and witness the band’s journey which has been marked out by beautiful sinuous curves. 

EUPHRATE is the entrance gate. Not only to this EP but to all the music the band has been cooking for these past 2 years. Here Fray embraces his mother tongue. In French he leads the song through a sonic puzzle gradually joined by the haunting voice of vocalist Juliette Mauduit around whom singers of polyphonic choir The Mystery of The Bulgarian Voice gather in an epic and swirling ending. Here, lyrics are inspired by women fighting for their rights.
 
MEANDRES EP is set to be released on March, 11th 2022 and is a glimpse of THOT’s versatility yet to come in their upcoming album, DELTA, which release date is still mysterious.

After EUPHRATE (release late 2021), the journey continues with BATELEUR (which name comes from a card of the TAROT), a 4’10” bass driven steamroller in which Grégoire Fray juggles with French and English to interpret what’s fueling his inspiration. As it evolves, the song reveals into a down tempo stellar hymn lead once again by Juliette Mauduit.

"Sleep Oddity", third excerpt from Belgium gang THOT latest EP "Méandres", is a haunting ballad about urban loneliness, sleepless nights and astrophysics wonderings. Starting with Juliette Mauduit's bewitching voice, the track gets slowly lifted by heavy guitars & grazing keyboard leads, and closes with Fray’s chameleon voice surrounded by waves of reverb & feedbacks.
