In 2011, Fred Bigot took off on a two-month road trip across the USA funded by Institut Français's research grant 'Hors-les-murs' and Gaite Lyrique in Paris. This 10 “ vinyl release, published on French imprint 'Les Disques on Rotin Reúnis', presents the fourth manifestation of the results of that journey, which formerly included a weekly, online sound report, an installation at Gaite Lyrique and a performance featuring Werner Hirsch. Bigot's project presents his research into the use and form of 'field recordings'. Using sounds collected from his journey, he cuts and arranges these as rhythms and melodies, sometimes using instruments and voices as interpreters of these sounds, reenacting and reformulating, giving the field recordings a new basis, a new lease of life and new purpose with a prominent, anti-archival stance.

The vinyl features five tracks, three of which appear on one side but appear only as one track – this is a so-called puzzle record, first invented by Jimmy Rogers in the 1930s. Side A features two tracks, 'A1' and 'A2', while side B features 'B1', ‘B1’ and ‘B1’, three tracks placed on three parallel grooves, making it near impossible to determine which track will actually play when the needle is set down. The immaculate packaging is characteristic feature of the label, run by Nice-based fine artist Arnaud Maguet, and features personal notes, sketches and photos made by Bigot and his companion during the course of his trip. It provides fascinating reading material and a good visual backdrop to the unique music and record.

Fred Bigot is a French musician and performer also know as Electronicat. His work is characterized by its constant switch between experimental, noise and pop music.
Since the mid 90´s, he combines electronic music, analogue synths, drum machines, loop machines, vocals and guitars, all kind of ideas coming from his performances and creates a pounding, fuzzy, wah-wah distorted psychedelic electro sound that has become his trademark.
He worked together with other internationally renowned electronic music producers and musicians, such as Gerhard Potuznik, Patrick Pulsinger, Khan, Catriona Shaw and J.G Thirwell...
To date he has released numerous albums and singles on international labels (Holy Mountain, Onitor, Disko b, Optical Sound, Ldrr) and produced tracks for pour Beans, Miss le Bomb, Marina Ribatski (ex- Bondo de Role), remixes for Depeche Mode, Numbers, Bretzel Göring (Stereo Total). 
Fred has performed alongside such cult-acts as Adult. and Stereolab and been joined on stage by revered musicians such as Felix Kubin, Magas, Khan, Max Turner, Timo Kaukolampi to name but a few. His shows “of insane proportion” have gained adulatory praise from audiences and critics alike in the most diverse locations, from Beijing to Bucharest to New York and back to Berlin where he currently lives and works.
