Fred Aster ( @fredastermusic ) has been cementing his name in the underground deep house & electronic eclectic scene via his own, and acclaimed, production work, radio host duties and by leading one of the best African labels within the genre, Blur Records - an Angolan electronic music label established in 2018 that spinned-off from signature events showcasing an array of international artists. 

A few days ago we reached out to Fred offering our humble Guest MIX space for this month. His receptiveness was immediate and it’s really a pleasure to have him as the host of our 19th feature. Breathing and exhaling the best of jazzy, melodic and groovy house textures, he presents a hour of pure class. My dj friend and station mate @djemmachampion kindly asked me to pull my proverbial finger out, blow off the dust, remove the lids and spin some tunes to cover her excellent Saturday session via @d3epradio.

Fred also hosts an incredible monthly deep house radio show on Germanys 🇩🇪 very own Radio Electronica. His show is titled 'Luanda Underground' and it explores the best new deep house releases. Its one of our favourite shows and we always check it as soon as it drops so make sure you do too

This week I came back from sunny and warm Santorini, where I got sick, but still could enjoy the sea view and some mountain walks. Another safety outlet was reading a collection of short stories by Haruki Murakami 'Men Without Women'. And the funny coincidence was I saw many Asian tourists there, what created sometimes the feeling, that I wasn't in Greece, but in Japan, with all the characters from the stories. One of the things I like in Murakami's books is he refers a lot of music, especially jazz. The Murakami's reference led me to 'The Art Tatum Solo masterpieces, Vol.7' by Art Tatum, which I was listening to two evenings while reading in a cozy chair. The last interesting highlight from this week is I've met a 7000 years old woman in Benaki museum in Athens.

Lea Lisa is a regular figure within the European electronic music scene for over 20 years, she began her career in 1996, taking influence from the sounds coming out of Chicago, Detroit and New York.

Over the past two decades, Lea has made it while choosing to stay out of the limelight, at all times refusing to give in to trends. Recognized for her sharp and uncompromising DJ performances, Music magazines Trax and Rolling Stone have referred to her as a DJ whom is conquering European dance floors.

Deep house music producers Kerri Chandler and Jovonn have also sung her praises, applauding her innate ability to captivate a dance floor.

She's played at some of the best international clubs around the world, including in major venues in Berlin, Paris, London, Copenhagen, China, Russia and the US. She has also featured on the program of festivals including the Nuits Sonores, Polaris Festival, People in the city Festival, Solaris, Southern Soul Festival, Sunslice and Contre-Temps to name a few.
