DC Promo Tracks: Self Control (Adam Stegemann's No Control Mix)

The Darker Side of Disco is a radioshow hosted by Reyk. In the monthly show he will showcase Disco influenced music with a darker twist. It will feature the latest releases and timeless classics from genres like Italo Disco, Indie Dance, Dark Disco, some trance vibes and everything in between.

In the second episode, Reyk drops his annual Disco mixtape—2 hours of Italo Disco, house, and other groovy tunes to vibe to as summer winds down.

Growing up in Berlin, shaped by a dancing mother and a bass-intensive dad (famous DDR musician), the music means EVERYTHING for Shimanski from an early age.

At the age of five, the keys of a piano were already sensitively operated, at the age of 12 the drum sticks and a drum kit were added.

Shimanski originally started with techno music in 2012. She played in small clubs in Berlin to practice a lot. Today Shimanski enchants the dance crowd with disco music mixed with electronic elements, a lot of Italo disco, dark disco, indie dance and nu wave.

Since 2020 Shimanski has been a resident DJ of the Disco Bizarre crew, which is famous for their legendary shows every Saturday at KitKatClub Berlin. Since 2022 she has the chance to host one Saturday per month at the lovely basement of KitKatClub, where she invites many great artists from around the globe.

Fred Berthet is this mysterious Frenchman known as DJ STEEF who produced slow & funky downtempo house tracks in the past years. Based in Marseille this quiet but not shy producer has built his way on many different projects since the early 90’s where it all started.
After composing singles with Antoine Boullé under the pseudonym Venus Attack Project (on the label US Guidance), he created the band known as Troublemakers with his friend Lionel Corsini & Arnaud Taillefert. After an over-welcomed first LP ("Doubts & Convictions" on Guidance rec) and well received worldwide, Concecration came on the second one on Blue Note (“Express Way”) pushing The Troublemakers at one of the top electronic band in the French scene.
Fred later on focused his attention on Copyshop project, influenced by the 80’s (Gomma, Toy Tonics, La Dame Noir, Numoment...). Producing now under DJ Steef its was the occasion to synthesize his musical roots such as 80’s electro pop, poisonous disco, classy french influences, insistent downtempo and up warding house. Fred has found in his alter ego DJ Steef the perfect combinasion of incredible fat, slow, funky downtempo house tracks that every body is so crazy about.Its not about fashion but clearly about style & thats why we all love his production stamped BIOMIX, in the shadows, under cover & simply outstanding.
