I guess I'll finally get around to uploading my main stage set from The Great Beyond. Recorded in the late afternoon on the first day of the festival. 

I focused the direction of the mix towards the creation of potential energy as a sort of "wind up" for the whole weekend. I took my usual route of starting slow and ramping up BPM through the set. Keeping things as rhythmic as possible to maintain a very constant momentum. I  took this as an opportunity to showcase Steve's PA setup; 16 Turbosound TSW721s, four Martin-inspired dual 15" and four Turbosound Floodlights. All aspects designed and teched by yours truly. In that light I centered on a lot of wide-sounding dynamic, expressive, hi-fidelity pieces for my playlist.

Dave Ball, the quiet genius behind Soft Cell, has sadly passed away at the age of 66. Best known for creating the iconic sound of Tainted Love, Dave helped shape the sound of the 80s and inspired generations of musicians. This video looks back at his life, his music, and the legacy he leaves behind. From his early days in Leeds with Marc Almond to his final work on Soft Cell’s new album, this is a farewell to a true pioneer of synth pop. R.I.P. Dave Ball — thank you for the music.

One thing cool about being an older DJ (having DJ’d for over 33 - make that 39 years now professionally) is that I still have some of the illest Synth/ 1980’s Italo and New Wave underground records and as I was going through them the other day they were yelling at me telling me to”take them” and “mix” them..
so if you are a fan of Synth, 1980s, Disco/Italo Jupiter 8, Moog Synth laden slap bass, vocoders etc.. then this mix just may be for you.. Hope at least a few people dig it.. Now how many tracks can you name? Lets see how many DJ's can remember these,,,,
