Live at Juicy Rootz - Burning Man 2023

Our community forged its connections on the dance floor, but it is through stories that that we share that keeps our bond strong away from it.  The tale of DJ Lunch Money is told to honor, celebrate, and grieve a cherished friend.  Her joy, smile, and whimsy is reflected in the songs by Juan Maclean, Claptone, Andhim, Adam Ten, David Penn, Double Touch, Lazarusman, and Kevin McKay.

Lushpod #70 - The Legend Of DJ Lunch Money

This set was recorded live on the Disco Space Shuttle with an incredible trumpet player by the name of Pablo (Paul Theodore Chandler). We were engulfed by a massive dust storm for the first couple hours of this set but it didn't slow us down. We kept the vibe going until the skies cleared and provide a beautiful view of the Man burning. 

The final hour of the set was a 2x2 tag team session with Lushbunny while we drove around the Playa looking for trouble. 

Big shoutout to the Disco Space Shuttle crew for sharing their vibe, sound and love with all of us on Burn Night.

Thanks to all the happy faces who stayed up all night or who set their dusty alarm clocks to come and dance with us Wednesday morning. Having been on the other side of the speakers for many a sunrise it was a treasured moment to play this music, which holds a lot of emotions for many of us.

We want to thank Fleetwood Mac for the original magic and Robot Heart for creating the opportunity to crank it loud and proud. The edits and remixes included were created by us (Roxanne Roll and Smooth Sailing) and many of our producer friends who we’d like to thank for their work and passion: Psychemagik, In Flagranti, Antenna Happy, Twin Sun, Dean Kenny, Youth Edits, Cosmic Kids and Trail Mix.

We hope you can feel the warm sunshine and hearts, see the great expanse of desert and feel that all possibilities are open to you when you listen to this mix. These were the wonderful feelings we had while we were playing.
