Happy to say that I went into this with a plan and for once in my producer life it actually worked out the way I wanted it to. The goal was to capture the atmosphere and the lore of the in game location as well as possible. The Goddess of Flowers is extremely interesting from a narrative perspective, being a character you never meet but with an incredible amount of indirect characterization. The energy she brings somewhat contrasts the unmoving backdrop of the scene and I tried to recreate this by mixing a tranquil and serene intro with more rhythmic elements throughout the track. The big, loud section near the middle then just sort of... happened, but it didn't feel out of place either.
The outtro was a lot more tricky. I wanted to return to the atmosphere of the intro, both to close out the song as well as to emphasize the stagnation of time within the orchard. But I felt like just repeating the same thing again would not do the rest of the track justice, and then I remembered that Liloupar said time in the oasis would eventually resume normal operation after she left. So I started introducing subtle changes to show this progression. I had a lot of fun particularly with a new reverb processing technique I developed recently and I think it turned out really well.

Honestly one of my best works to date, at least as far as I am concerned.
