I personally do not think ONLY thinking happy thoughts is the best way to could change a bad situation, but one can try to look at the full picture of the situation, to be able to change what can be changed.
I'm not impressed with the majority of sayings and expressions, because I think most of them are incomplete and are subjects for interpretation and different conclusions too much. 
I do agree with the expression that every cloud got a silver lining though. 
You just have to be able to lift your focus elsewhere sometimes, and be open minded enough to notice them.

Soft Solo works - Ambient / Relaxing / Meditative / Thoughtfulness

The few tracks in this set are different from my other ones. They are loaded with both traditional music symbolism and a few tracks also have hidden references all over.
However, those are also created to sound natural and enjoyable, even if disregarding these details completely.

I still want your thoughts and reactions to how you feel about them.
But I also invite you to take on the challenge of making up your own mind about certain details and overall track concepts.

I put specific references and more philosophical thoughts there intentionally, yet one can still draw your own conclusions about what it means to YOU. 
I must say that even I have mixed emotions about some of the references that I depict, and am not trying to influence your own opinions about such subjects here. There is no right or wrong in how you perceive these tracks musically or emotionally, or even about the hidden discoveries that you may make.

Music with heavy symbolism - both traditional and hidden

I assume all stems were recorded in a professional studio, or at least with good room treatment, although there were some mild inconsistencies etc.

The backing vocals were provided with initial pitch editing, which always is hard to undo, but I adjusted it further, and other vocal parts.

Oh, and this is the first time I've ever mixed live drums btw. 
The snare track had very loud bleeds from the Overheads, so that was a challenge to address, having to think outside the box a bit.
I chose to not use drum replacement samples as the easy way out, to reflect my attention to details.

Note: The original version of track has been previously officially released, but this version is edited, mixed, and mastered by myself, using stem files.
Piano stem had some (IMO) excessive warbling embedded in it, that I only countered partly.

Editing highlights: 
*Polyphonic pitch correction & comping of the single BACKING vocals stem (which had FX plugins on it and quite heavy artifacts and off-pitch elements in it)

*Remixing the lead vocals with additional editing.
* Lots of volume automation for more fluid balance in phrases.
* Izotope RX5 removing squeaky pedal noise artifacts in the piano stem.

I'm rapidly improving both level of quality and work speed, with a higher focus on my instrumental productions than before, but also on editing and mixing works for other musicians.

I have recently upgraded to a modern fast PC, which greatly affects my ability to improve further.
Using modern PC hardware, including highly professional soundcard, studio monitors & headphones. (RME, EVENT & ULTRASONE.)

My current and upcoming Music Productions also benefits from highly acclaimed modern retail software and sample libraries. Some which I didn't put to full use yet.
For over a year, I've been improving my mixing skills a lot. (which thus can't be heard in my earliest tracks)

All my music retail software is frequently used in high-profile media productions today, and almost all of it is from recent few years. 
All of it is 100% legally obtained, and I'm adding more onwards as well.

I still prefer my most personal music to have depth, symbolism etc. But I'm also improving my work with single emotions. 
The shorter cues, and the solo-compositions are tracks who have that mainly.

Finally! I used to do countless hours of busy piano improvisations during my piano studies, even in my piano concertos and other performances for audiences. 
But this is my first ever accomplished combo of finished composition & HQ audio quality of recorded solo piano actually. 
It's also the first composition I'm using Soundiron's "Emotional Piano" on.

Now that this composition IS finalized, it might also be aimed to be included in either a media project or a personal full length album, or both.

Most of the notes are recorded live, using my MIDI keyboard, but there are lots of post-editing, both for the composition and for the note tweaks. Velocity, timing and additional notes.

Originally recorded using East West Quantum Leap - Pianos Gold (Bechstein grand), but I decided to use "Emotional Piano" piano software library from Soundiron by now.

I had to adjust a lot to make it sound the way it was intended, also for the different sample sets with the new software library.
But it was much easier to shape phrases to sound naturally, compared to EWQL Pianos anyway, IMO. So it was well worth the additional hassle.

The later part for this composition was based on a live improvisation I did, while the first sections were composed through trial and error, based on hand positionings and chord progressions.

A good deal of the arpeggio techniques is inspired by Rachmaninov, my favourite piano composer. (due to the deep adoration I have for the musical and emotional qualities, much more than the famous technical aspects of his)

Other inspirations for this composition were the feeling of a strong connection with nature; 
and (hopefully, eek) -an even stronger connection with my wife.

The repeated main motf, with it's chord progression and melody combo was something I came up years ago.
Musically speaking, I aimed for something that would sound very emotionally connecting, yet not so similar to anything I've heard before. So that was a big challenge and a lot of hard work for it back then, trying to achieve both aims at the same time.

The solo piano version of this composition reached 100+ favs in just a few Weeks, Major exposure of that one, thanks to "the Piano Cloud". It's also some indication of the emotional, musical & mixing qualities I provide in my music & music production.
I will include the Solo Piano version on my first album, along with other original compositions of mine.


ABOUT THIS VERSION:
This is the synth pads combo version of my first ever accomplished combo of finished composition & HQ audio quality of recorded solo piano actually. 
It's also the first composition I'm using Soundiron's "Emotional Piano" on.

Full title would be "Nocturne #1" - The Longing and the Wonders, 
potentiallly with B flat minor as key reference.
It changes keys/scales, but B flat minor is the most used key for main motif.

MY PERSONAL RELATION TO THE PHILIPPINES:
My wife is born and raised in the Philippines, with her entire family living there, although in a Region not directly affected. 
But we got a bit additional insight about the overall situation there, now and earlier on. So I felt a strong urge to do at least something.

See, I was adopted myself, coming from a center for Korean orphans, but had the fortune of becoming raised by my Swedish parents caring & loving hands.
Thus I can still only partly relate more to the situation for the homeless children in the affected Typhoon disaster Regions.


Big thanks for all fellow composers, musicians, family & friends, who have given me feedback on this and other compositions of mine.
Having to think about day job again, this kind of disaster events makes me stop and think about where I'm at, a bit more. Perhaps I can offer a similar feeling to others, not exactly sure.

Shoreline Scenery - old Charity track for the Philippines (Ambient Piano Composition)

I suck at achieving consistency in singing performances, so this was a study of nearly impossible editing cheat stunts, attempting to make it sound natural while it truly wasn't. 
143bpm didn't help either, but at least I recorded the vocal performances it in real time originally.
(I didn't do the alleged Dragonforce slow-mo recording trick on you, that is...)

Lyrics include lots of hidden references, but the sense morale and even the identity of the main character in this tale is still open for interpretation, by deliberate design. I also used deceptive hinting, as a way to play on your assumptions. This is something I enjoy in some favourite films and TV series as well.

So even if you think you've nailed the lyrics interpretation, chances are you're on to something, but equally so that you might have jumped to conclusions for it. :)

This is the first tune I used with a new Soundtrack track-set that I made, for increased work-flow.
It stood between this title and "The Ancient Paradox".
I wanted to achieve a bigger and more epic feel in this track, with some specific emotions and possible activity reference, but I decided not to choose any extremely self-explaining title. To each their own...
Some possible dual symbolism, or different philosophical aspect in the musical detail references.
If you wanna get a big symbolism / hidden references challenge, then I highly recommend the "Broken Reality" and the "The Faires that stopped beat around the bush" tracks.

The Ancient Forces - Revisited (2012 version) Downloadable 48k 24bit wav-file!

This is my contribution to the official demos of Versilian Studios new product, VSCO2 (Chamber Orchestra 2), using no other instruments or other samples than VSCO2.

It was made with the official video promo in mind. This is why there are so sudden transitions.

It's both to highlight the versatility of this sample library, but also to correlate with the visual and marketing aspects of the video.
For the atonal piano part, the characteristics of the image zooming even. (also showcasing multiple mic positions while at it), as well as building tension at the right place.

I also was part of the beta-testing team, doing limited testing at first, but then boosting my contributions during the scoring of this track.

Track title is a reference to both movie eras with matinees and partly also the Baroque era in Classical music. (Two kinds of Harpsichord showcased, no less)

Some highlighted instruments in this track:

Premonition (dark suspenseful  piano)

Note: This is not the official release, who was been released prior to this version of mine/ours.
This version is edited, mixed, and mastered by myself, using stem files from the studio where Elaine Emilia recorded her vocals & piano performance.

Editing highlights: 
*Polyphonic pitch correction & comping of the single backing vocals stem (which had FX plugins on it and quite heavy artifacts and off-pitch elements in it)

*Remixing the lead vocals with additional editing.

* Lots of volume automation for more fluid balance in phrases, as opposed to the quicker and more common (over)compression solution.

* Izotope RX5 removing squeaky pedal noise artifacts in the piano stem. 
(I have RX7 now)

(note, the piano stem had some fast tape-style flutter in it, that I didn't like and couldn't fix. For that I'd need Celemony Capstan or the equivalent, but those are VERY expensive, and I can't afford that right now.
I tried to cover it up a bit in other ways, but I still notice it. Do you?
If you didn't notice it in my mix on premium listening devices, then there was improvements in that area too, although it's more notable on premium studio monitors & headphones.)

Scoring highlights:
My string arrangement is MIDI based, but since there is no set BPM / click, it was still a challenge to time every note manually, especially the rubato parts.

This orchestral scoring composition is now used as an Award-winning track for a video scoring composition by Versilian Studios - VSCO2 Sample library Scoring competition.

Based on my old "The Faires That Stopped Beating Around The Bush" orchestral composition, which were partly based on the concept of the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter.

This new version has a new "Autumn" section, and additional attention to visual details, symbolism & timing have been made.

During the end of the video, There are two merged excerpts of my alternative video trailer demo track ("The Classic Eras"), serving as additional promo for the product during those screens. I used VSCO2 only for that track too.


Using Versilian Studios VSCO2 exclusively for instrument samples, so it's also a new official demo track for the product.

Original Synopsis for "Invisible Stars"
This track was intended to be for the final scene in my bare bone Sci-Fi film script.
At last the final destination is reached, and a new era of peace is awaiting. I sometimes use this very track as an anti-stress measure.
Very successfully so, like all adversity has come to an end, and this place is supposedly the ultimate kind of home coming.
(And thus, it's NOT to be confused with any references to black sun, Thule or Atlantis, you hear!

A central part of my film script idea was to ask the question to what extent "The ends justifies the means", and what would be pre-destined to happen, and what consequences actions would have on a global/"galactical" scale.
I was partly inspired by Astro-physics and theories whether hypothetical Time travelling could change past and future events or not.

A bit too rapidly so, perhaps, but all the more challenging to figure out some of the detailed metaphors and deep thoughts on different perspectives, as opposed to black and white, right or wrong only. ;)

It uses lots of symbolism in the choosen instruments, and in the musical & emotional directions in different parts of the track.
(including choice of rythms, harmonies & chords) 
Most things symbolise different emotions and/or thoughts in the specific order of the tune.I also added quite a few more subliminal and hidden symbols, for the hardcore analyzers out there. 

Some might still be difficult to spot, but there are also some new hints for you to notice for the first time in clearer mix/mastering. You might even hear the choir lyrics by now eh.

The messages and purposes of that is partly that even such can be intepreted very differently, not judging you to be right or wrong about your own perception or guesses, or even conclusions.

This is a combination of two original solo piano compositions of mine: "Epsilon Ursae Majoris" & "Invisible Stars"
Originally those were both part of a bare bone Sci-Fi film script of mine, for which six short solo piano compositions in total were composed.

Concepts and track title for the music are my own ideas, not the name of the game. (although my own ideas is the name of my game, eh? All, including the conceptual ideas were done from scratch.

INTRODUCTION:
I'm an Awards-winning Composer & Music Producer with lots of depth and experience in several musical genres, but also for visual and music symbolism.
Recently, I'm focusing on Music for Licensing. Both individual work and producing other artists with the same aims.
I'm also offering my services for pro music productions for media, musicians and singers.

For projects, my music can be focused on the single emotions and effective cues, to greatly enhance moods, or more complex and closer communication to bring extra plot dimensions to the script and screenplay, on a highly professional intepretation & correlation level.

The thing I value the very most in music is the emotions it touches, both my own and for listeners.
It could be technically and theoretically advanced, but not always necessarily.

Some of my personal tracks here are very complex and not suitable as cues, more for showcasing my depth, composing level & musical versatility.

Recently, I've focused a lot on improved mixing & mastering skills quite a bit, and I also consider re-mastering most of my existing tracks. 
I use professional plugins & software, but one can always learn more.

MORE ON MY MUSIC BACKGROUND:
With 7 years of full-time post-college music education, and more than 15 years of teaching music subjects, I've begun to focus a lot more on my own music again in recent years.
Still improving my production skills towards Music Production, but I now feel ready to start marketing myself and my services, whether it's for moving image and other  medias, freelance musician for track projects, or editing and mixing your own tracks.

ON WHAT MAKES ME STAND OUT:
I think the attention to details is of highest importance, be it details in phrasing, melodies, chord changes, sound and mixing etc.
The diverse and extensive music background and close studies of film & game genres all certainly help for these things. But there's more:

Another aspect is that I often design my own music for deeper analyze challenges, for anybody who gives it a try.
Therefore, my most personal tracks are heavy on both traditional music symbolism, but some also including sublime or hidden symbolism. 
It's a highly personal way to add depth, multi-layered concepts, mystery and challenges while listening/analyzing.
In specific tracks, I avoid spelling out any sublime references, because I'd rather invite you to have all kinds of personal & individual thoughts on my creations.

Before I picked up composing again, I spend most of my spare time with personal research on numerous subjects, from different perspectives & media for a wider picture.
This too helps me in my highly personal composing style - Metaphors, allegories, and to reference well-known and less known knowledge & media alike.
