P/N - How's one of our most regular contributors?
Bonjour - Fine, thanks. Autumn is wonderful here.

P/N - How's Autumn in Romania? Is it inspiring you in any way? 
Bonjour - It's still a bit hot for this period but it's nice. Dont think I get my inspiration with the season, but yes autumn has its magic.
 
P/N - This is your second podcast for our series. how did you record it? does it represent a new creative phase in your life?
Bonjour - It's still a traktor set, and i'm still playng in ableton too, and im ashamed by this.
 
P/N - Did you start making music already or are you still dj'ing and doing sound for art exhibitions?
Bonjour - Yes I've started making my own tracks even though I still have lot to learn, but I also have the best people teaching me this and that.
 
P/N - Plans for a near future?
Bonjour - Finally i'm going to have the launch party for Olimp01.

P/N - Greetings to our newest entry. how are you joana?
Joana - I feel great! It's my birthday tomorrow!!!

P/N - You are a multidisciplinary visual artist. what are your main activities in the artistic world?
Joana - Above all, i feel it.. I paint and promote Art and Artists in my studio/gallery Work.Ink' Joana Arez in Cascais (Portugal).
 
P/N - Doing a graphical interpretation for an audio session can be an intriguing experience. was this your first try on something like this? how did you do your triptych and what can you tell us about it?
Joana - For sure my first experience in such a challenge. It felt great!
Regarding my triptych, well (like they say) what you see is what you get. Only in this case it just sounds much better.
"I'm an addict to everything that repeats it self. When information becomes nothing."
 
P/N - What is work.ink? Is it your workspace and gallery or something a bit more transcendent? 
Joana - Till now Work.Ink is whatever i want it to be. As long as it goes by the concept "Love as urban Art". Experimental... Mainstream... Exquisite... Winner...
You name it, i'll do it.
 
P/N - Future plans?
Joana - Work.Ink&Luis Bivar, Opening. Tomorrow 7pm.

Pluie/Noir Podcast is a bi-monthly audio-visual episode representing our work as an artist collective. Each episode will feature a one hour collage/mix by one of our producers/djs and a poster triptych by one of our designers. 
We interviewed both artists and dropped some questions about their vision:


PLACID STRAIT aka SHCAA

Welcome Monsieur Sacha. How are you feeling lately?
Shcaa: I'm feeling quite happy, thanks! Got my first vinyl released this week on Sharing Tones, and now this podcast.. two very precious things for me, all good!

You're a quite talented and heteroclite emerging artist. Does music fill your day-by-day routine? What do you do for a living?
Shcaa: I'm still a student. Even though, as I like to say, I often feel like I'm doing music and only studying in my free time.. I do not produce everyday though, and I'm not planning to make it my only activity. That comes only if I feel something. I rather have a listening routine! When I wake up, the first thing I do is play a record.

The story-telling and all it's betweens seem to be your major focus on music making. What are your main inspirations (not necessarily related to electronic music)?
Sacha: True, sometimes it is a story, sometimes it is simply a context, a set of mind that I am trying to reproduce. My tracks often represent something that I perceive as somehow important for me but remains ineffable, so I link it with the closest subjective ideas that come to me thinking of it, like some kind of very inner and nuanced feelings or memories. So I start by arranging a track somewhere in space, and I add many elements trying to reproduce those feeling. It's ideas that I cannot express with single meanings.

"Iz Pepla". What does it mean, how does it relate to your podcast, when and how was it recorded?
Sacha: I was going to name the podcast "from ashes" when it was half way done; I had this feeling it was somehow going back in time in the first part (or just a reverse of some sort), until there is nothing left, then going back again but through a completely new path. Then I thought "from ashes" sounded too holywoodian, so I translated it in Russian as I just came back from Moscow and I was quite moved by the whole experience there.
It's a cut-paste-edit of tracks, using quite a lot of field recordings to add a notion of space as well as consistency while going from one to another.

What are your plans for the future?
Sacha: Moving back to Paris this autumn! I left 15 years ago when I was just a child so it's definitely going to affect my creative process, as I started producing in London. I really want to express what I have in mind for Placid Strait the same way I'm slightly starting to do as Shcaa.

Welcome aboard! How's life Juli?
Juli: Hey! Good days, busy, nice, colored. Ah, and sunny! Spring is finally here.

You have a bachelor in Interior Architecture. What do you do for a living nowadays?
Juli: Yes, architecture is great, but I play with way more smaller details than drawing floor plans, I draw illustrations.

Your work is balanced between ultra detail and the strictly necessary minimalistic strokes. How do you work most of the times, and how do you describe your technique?
Juli: Techno ink and needles. Music as my inspiration; watercolor, rapidograph and isograph ink pens as tools and techniques.
Topic, hard to say. Sometimes I have a briefing, sometimes not. I can only say that designs are at their best when a client trusts me entirely, and I do my work how I feel it needs to be done.

What can you tell us about your triptych?
Juli: Ah, those ladies. "See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil". You know it? Almost the same. And by the way, Shcaa made a great job too tying all this together.

What's next on your bucket list for 2012?
Juli: Creating more stuff, meeting more people and showing more arts.
