APOD0054 Matt Voor Takeover. Edition Erich Schmid Ep. 30

Last summer I experienced a night of intense and persistent sleep paralysis, with this hallucinating sensation that a very evil force was roaming around me. It embodied in the form of a violent wind rushing in my room to carry me off. As soon as I was going back to sleep, the same scene was starting again and I couldn't fight against it.

I tried to reproduce the sensations I had during this peculiar night through this sound collage piece, which is full of dark ambient, drone and gloomy experimental sounds.

Farewell has merely become a part of life we already live. Standing in front of fading realms, fragil, as it is ephemeral. Fleeting memory, monody, chromatic grief, maladies - from warm skin to cold stones. De-seeding the stasis that allows the uninterrupted heartache to go on.

'Only Autumn Returns' captures bittersweet remembrance as a poignant tribute to the the depth of human transience and the enduring power of impermanence.
